Well, after buying my first Bongo over the Summer (5HH in gloss black/black PG), I've found that my Stingray 5HH hasn't had much play time... In fact, very little play time at all.
As many here have realized before me, the Bongo is great fun to play and the tone/punch just can't be beat. In my application (YMMV), the Bongo just punches through the low end of the mix while making space for low keyboards and guitars...finding its own sonic space to "rule". An amazing instrument for sure that just grows on you...quickly.
So today I picked up a Desert Gold Bongo 5HS from our friends at TPB. I was thrilled to find this discontinued color available new and I'm really excited to play the HS! The bass ships with a black ice PG, but I called Dan at EB today to order a tort PG, which I think looks warmer/better with the Desert Gold finish.
In some way I'm pretty sure that Jack and others here had a hand in this....you all know who you are!
...um....thanks?
Next thing you know, I'll be wanting to put flats on my Bongos or some crazy thing...
