Hey guys what is a good amp that i can bring back and forth to practices , I live on a third floor and carrying my yamaha dg80 is just getting to heavy to carry to practices . Im playing for different people and cant leave an amp anywhere.
any input on something that is a good sounding amp thats not to heavy that will pair well with Y2D and a Luke.
any suggestion would be helpful also dont want to spend too much on one. i will still use my good heavy amps for gigs though. bringing it my amp up 3 floors just about killed me tonight especially since i was trying to be quiet too and not bother the neighbors.

markbass!

Guitar Center recommended Markbass... I second guessed them becuase they're salesman, and I checked with EB... They agreed. I bought two Markbass rigs.... they're plain, small, light, ugly, and sound like heaven.

I've owned it ALL, and in 20 years this sound is unparalelled. The band agrees.

I just picked up a Bugera V5 a couple weeks ago. It's pretty a cool little tube combo, 5 watts, 8" speaker, master volume, reverb, and a built in attenuator (5, 1, .1 watts) For a little amp it's pretty loud. I used it at church sunday morning set at 1 watt with the gain around 6 or 7 and the master at about 4 and was asked to turn it down. The sound guy said I said I was "REALLY, REALLY loud!" It's not the fanciest, but they're dirt cheap (esp. used, I got mine from the Gear Page classifieds for about the price of a nice stompbox).

Tech21 Trademark 10 or Trademark 30. They don't make the 10 anymore, but you can pick either of these up for a song on either Craigslist if EvilBay.

TECH 21 - Trademark 30

TECH 21 - Trademark 10

They also made a 30LE, if you can fine one I hear they are excellent.

Gio, I got mine from a guy on Craigslist, it's been a few years, it was $110 picked up and ht thru in the carry bag.

I kind of dig the Egnater Rebel line for small, light, and a good mix of tones. They do not get as think sounding as I would like but you can get some nice sounds out of it.

I have many practice amps, but the one I love the most is my G-Dec 15w. I love having all the tracks to Jam with...and the ability to change the keys. It is not my favorite for tone (though I don't mind most of the preset tones)...my Vox is still my favorite for tone....but when the G-Dec comes on, I CAN'T STOP PLAYING!!! I love playing my Y2D so it also gets the most use through it.
Not sure if that helps, but if you haven't tried one, you might wanna give one a shot.

I do need it to be loud enough to practice with a full band

I think you could definitely practice with a full band with something like the V5 (or the blackstar or VHT versions) as long as you don't need clean tones.

I've bought a Fender Mustang III
Very low price itwas the first reason
And second for his versality and third for his light weight
After working on his patches it's sound good
An USB interface is included
An Effect loop and auxiliary input also
Sometimes i use it like a power amp for my AXE
It's not a high end amplifier it just do his job

Being a tube amp guy it still is a bit strange to me but I'd second Ily's post...I very recently bought a Fender Mustang I as a birthday gift and have been toying around with it all weekend, lots of great tones to be had (and I didn't even use the software). Considering how inexpensive they are they're kinda hard to beat... I had a lot of fun with it and I guess a Mustang III should do the task nicely for you!

If you're looking for a tube amp I'd suggest looking into the Engl Gigmaster series...I don't know about US pricing but they're really great value for money!

I suggest to find a used blues junior and take a skeleton pedal board (i.e tuner, drive, delay). Light and still reacts to your fingers like your live rig (provided you use tubes live). Tilt the amp in practice towards your head (and everyone else) to get the most out of the volume and tone.
