Hello All,

I just wanted to share my joy as I have received my Sterling HH (Black Cherry Burst, matching hs, black pg) last week. It is beautiful and absolutely blows my mind. I was going to keep my War*ick as a backup but now that I've received the sterling, I'm not sure I'd ever play it again! I'm thinking I may trade it in towards either an SR5 or a Bongo 5 once I get the finances built up again.

One question though about adjusting it. It has a great deal of fret buzz right out of the shipping box so I'd like to adjust that (if possible) myself. I know nothing about making those kind of adjustments and I wouldn't want to mess with the intonation or anything. Is this something I can make a small adjustment to by myself without bunging it up? If so, can someone please let me know how?

I want to thank everyone at EB for my dream instrument. I really couldn't be happier. My fingers hurt because I've been playing it so much and that hasn't happened in years! I'll try to post some pics when I get the energy to do so.

Best,
Ger

When these basses leave the factory they are set up for the tempature here on the west coast, so this is a very simple adjustment because i do these everyday here in my shop. All you need to do is turn the trussrod wheel counter clockwise about 1/4 of a turn and I can bet you the problem will be resolved.
One thing i can Promise you on any Ernie Ball Music man bass is #1 it'll never leave the factory unless it's Perfect and #2 it's the easiest bass you'll ever set up. Congrats and have fun.

Congrats on the new Sterling - My personal favorite in the EBMM line-up!

A tweak on the wheel should be all that's needed - enjoy! :D

Thank you very much for the adjustment tip Dave! I'll do that. I know EB's quality control is top notch. Everything about the instrument screams it. Nothing they could do to the bass at the factory could prepare it for our ridiculous weather here which is surely why it's buzzing. I had a feeling it would be an easy fix. I'll give it a slight turn when I get home.

I agree with phatty!

Can't wait to see pictures of that - BCB is the colour I want for a custom-built Sterling when I get round to it! Glad you're happy with it!

Here's what you do. Forget trading in that Warwick; put it up on eBay. Even if it's a Corvette, you'll still get at least $500 for it. If it's a higher end model, then you'll likely bring in enough to pick yourself up another Music Man. Since you have the HH Sterling, might I recommend a Bongo 5. I'm an avowed Sterling man myself, but find myself more and more grabbing the Bongo HH as my weapon of choice. Anyway, welcome to the club, and if you hang around here, I'm sure you won't stop at two.
