well, received my green tribute last night after a long day at work. with my excitement through out the day I coulndn't wait to get home and open it up. As I unboxed it and opened that case the first thing i noticed, The headstock was a completely different color green! It doesn't match at all. Also, there are all kinds of spots on the body along the bottom where the stain didn't take. The case has a block hot glued in under the compartment to hold the guitar in, but when it came in the guitar was banged around and not sitting properly in the case. Plus there is hot glue all over the place near that block.Whoever taped up the headstock for staining must have had a long night the night before because its alll jagged around the entire headstock. It's too bad this one was let out of the factory like this because it does have a nice pattern on the top. Unfortunately I very dissapointed with this product and most likely going back. I know its only a 2000 guitar but i wouldve expected alot more from one of my favorite guitar companies. If you guys want pics let me know

Sorry about your luck, I did notice on mine that the headstock isn't perfect... Not enough to really merit complaint, I kind of like the character. But yours seems like it may need some help. Two shades of green? Weird.

Please just contact customer service. I've dealt with them and they genuinely want nothing more tjlhan for you to be satisfied with your guitar. I understand your frustration but there's nothing we can do. Good luck man.

Oh Man ........ That sucks ! I know how much you wanted that Green Axis !! Hopefully Glen & customer service can help you make that right, as I know that 3 Greens appeared late last week (two to Ohio , and one to NY).
I know that you gave up a guitar that you LOVED to get it, so hopefully things will be made right for you this week !

Texas Finally!

Really?? OK first lets see pics, if its that bad well should have posted them with your thread, I have sat back today trying not to reply but well cant do it.

Lets start with the claim the headstock is a different color, no it is the same color stain just different wood it is being applied to. Mine shows the variance as well, it is normal, quilt normal maple and dieseased(birdseye)maple are going to make the same color look lighter/ darker. Think of latex paint, I use it on textured sheet rock and I use it on non textured sheetrock the paint color looks different.

Then yes there are some slight edges not straight on the headstock but again this is hand stained( more on this in a minute) so yes a little bleed around the tape may have occured.

And now these dead spots agian normal, I was sitting with Derek last Saturday and he was pointing them out on the Green Axis I bought that day adds class, it how the wood takes the stain, especially since these are hand rubbed, all wood is different.

Last you have never mentioned how it sounded or the cool updated floyd!

Sorry your disappointed but proof is in the pics and well EBMM can take care of you, so hope it works out and mines fing awesome:D

As aforementioned, pics are important here. I really went over mine today and just cant find any real 'flaws'. If anyone wants to see MY tribute In action, head over to the Red Lion on Bleaker in NYC at 1am tonight. Hope your issue is resolved to your liking!

2011-10-22_20-57-04_991.jpg sweat, you hit the nail on the head almost about the headstock. Was at my local gc earlier and they explained the differences between the wood would cause it to be a bit lighter however, they agreed that it seemed a little more off. And since right near the nut the color is almost dead on and then fades out to a lighter green I think I could've been done a little better. HOWEVER and thats a BIG HOWEVER, when I plugged this sucker into one of the amps Im eyeballing at the moment I was very pleased with the tone. SO much so that while I was there I bought it a sibling so it wouldn't feel lonely at home... Yup a beautiful emerald green axis ss. Now that thing is a monster. If it had a trem that would be a keeper for life. You would not believe what I payed for that NOS ass bfr if I told you. I guess I was just upset that my evh was on its way to islandboy this morning so i was going over this thing with a fine tooth comb. Its still got more flaws than I'd like but it is the color I've been looking for almost a year now

Guys can we just relax a little...the guitar side is sort of crazy these days....I cant understand wanting to be rude and disrespectful to the other members over a guitar and its forum.

My 2 cents: EBMM customer service has been impeccable. Use the proper channels and I'm sure satisfaction that is guaranteed will be honored. The forum tends to weigh heavily on the emotional side.............
