this is what the holidays are all about.........Family! Grandma Helen and all the grand children!!

p.s.
Grandma Helen used to take me to 10-12 giants games a year, she's been a fan since the New York days and is responsible for my sick passion for the orange & black!

This year, I went to my Mom's house in Orange Co. My aunt and uncle from the bay area brought my 94-year-old grandpa down with them, so I got to see him. Me and Gramps are the best of pals. About 10 years ago we went to Mexico together for 10 days - he drank me under the table!!! After about 3 days I said "Gramps, I gotta have one day. I'm pickled". He doesn't party like that anymore, he can barely see or hear, but the one thing that has been unscathed in his 94 years is his positive attitude. He is the happiest, most fun-loving person I've ever met, and I'm honored to be his granddaughter. He went around my college graduation party introducing himself to everyone as "Grandpa". He loves and lives to laugh at and with life. I sincerely hope that in being his granddaughter, I will at least take one shred of his positive attitude and gusto into my old age. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Stanley Adolf Fitschen!

Oh hey look, I'm wearing an apron! LOL

Great photo Kevin, I envy people that have a close family. It explains why you're such a great guy. Doesn't explain the BB thing though...;) :)

truer than you know....Grandma Helen used to absolutely dispise Bonds when he was with the Pirates. I remember going to a Giants/Pirates game in 92' and my grandma and great aunt spent all game talking about the ridiculous Pirates left fielder and all his jewelry and attitude etc, then going on to tell me a few stories about his dad Bobby(Ex Giant) :) :) Then the next year we signed Bonds and he became Giant ....Grandma's love for him didn't grow to much(if at all) the, at the time, record contract of 4 years 40 million didn't sit well with her. And while I remember most of Bonds' homeruns and RBI's....Grandma Helen remembers ALL of his strikeouts....and double plays!! Although I must say Grandma did start turning around in 2002 when we made it to the World Series :) :) We don't need to talk about how that ended!! ;) My Grandpa passed away when I was 3 so I truely feel lucky to have a grandma cool enough to do things like take me to baseball games etc. The ultimate will be this year as we plan to attend opening day together....my turn, I'll be taking Grandma...and as she always did with me I'll make sure she brings her glove :) :) :)

He looks relaxed, considering all he had been through - and what was about to become of him.

If you're like me and probably even if you're not, "poon" sounds like a very dirty word. But we made some anyway, and
this is my sister in law installing the marshmallows.

The table - not yet covered in food, but then I got bored with taking photos, or maybe I was just hungry.

Considering how many Peruvians were involved, it was a relatively traditional Thanksgiving meal, even with the poon.
