But you learn with experience, the other 2 fell asleep and stayed asleep even if a bomb went off beside them. Last week, something triggered our house alarm at 2am in the morning - cleared my ear wax good and proper, not a sound from the 3 girls.

This is absolutely true - and critical to my sanity as a parent! We permitted normal "noise" to go on around our sleeping children right from the beinning. Dishwasher to vacum cleaner as well as dinner-parties that went on beyond their bed time. Now, happily, it doesn't matter what's going on in the house. When it's their bedtime they say good night and off they go. Once they're out they stay out!
