Heavily Modded AL HH on Ebay

So AJ, if one of us buys this can we buy a replacement neck from EBMM? Or is this one too messed up to send back in?
 
I would assume that would be the case, but before I she'll out any money I would like to be 100% sure I can get a replacement. I would have no problem getting it repainted and I have ideas for the electronics... But the neck is make or brake for me. Redoing the HH Al is a hell of a lot cheaper then the other guitar I want.

What ever we feel about relic jobs the headstock is just a bad job done badly. It's impossible to know what kind of other unintentional damage has been done by such poor work. The pickup covers can be replaced, the finish can be redone, but a new neck will be a must, IMO.
 
the last resort is to cut it completly and make a neck à la steinberger :)

such a crapy work, it really doesn't worth it even for 500 bucks
 
You know.......I first considered buying until seeing that he'd refuse $500. That white HH artist Al on GC was down to $750, I believe before it finally sold. I have no issue painting guitars (have 2 in my basement right now in the process of clearing) and would even consider the task of splicing on a piece of wood to the headstock, then painting it to hide any color differences. But not for $500. His claim that this would be an $1800 guitar is silly. That's darn close to street price in any Guitar Center. I'd certainly go $300 on it. Maybe $350.
 
As long as that neck is, indeed original (it probably is) then you can buy another neck. We'd need to get the original neck back first though as mentioned. PM me for pricing if you are in the US.

That is very, very cool.
 
I kind of think it's a cool idea that was poorly executed. I'd never do this to my instruments, but the attempt to make the headstock match the pointed contours of the body is kind of cool.
 
I actually think his head stock mod, though executed barbarically, yields a pretty neat rendition to the standard head stock.
As stated above especially on this model.

Me too but alot, WTF was this dude taking! Man OK on the relic stuff not my cup of tea and have only seen one relic I would consider but the headstock thing is just fing wrong. Bad workmanship and well the EBMM head stock is one of my attractions to the brand.

But to each their own
