Erin that is strange that your insurer won't pay for UPMC hospitals.. I can't say I've ever heard of that. Weird! Allegheny General has some good cancer programs too, but not as well known (or funded) as the Hillman center.

Yeah.. United Healthcare. They will pay for Mercy but not any of the other UPMC hospitals. Something about Mercy has to take Homeless people so they also take united health.. Its a sham, but its their business I guess... My drs at Presby had to make special trips to Mercy to do the surgery to biopsy this thing and figure out what it was.

In This city UPMC is the health provider to have, and my employer doesn;t provide them.

Oh Well...

BP, just saw this thread and I am not at home to access my Paypal account now. Please let me know if this is going past the 8 PM time and I will send in the AM when I am at home.

Best wishes and prayers Erin! I am in healthcare and I see success stories every day.

Contributed in memory of my late Father-In-Law, Al Fletcher, Ernie Ball string loyalist, great guitarist and bassist, and with me on a family vacation to Memphis a year ago when we toured the G*b**n guitar plant, and I decided to cross "Learn to play bass" off MY bucket list...his loyalty to EB strings was passed on to me, and naturally, I checked into the bass line...someday...

We were going to get together in Nebraska over the July 4th holiday this year to celebrate "A.P.'s" birthday and have a jam session, but he passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2009...

A.P. was a cancer survivor, too...it got his voice, but not his spirit or his life...for over a decade, he talked like Robbie the Robot, but man could he play guitar and bass...keyboards, too!

Miss ya, Dad - everytime I play, I dedicate it to you...

Good luck Erin - A.P. beat the cancer, and you can, too! Be strong!
