Ok,

I cant figure out how to keep the piece that is on top of the trem (the piece that the bar goes into) tight. It wiggles alot! The bar itself is tight. I tried tightening the hex piece under on the under side of the trem (located in the cavity) And still no better. What is wrong?

Do you mean the horse-shoe shaped fitting that sits on the trem plate over the hole for the arm? If I'm not mistaken, that's supposed to be "slightly loose". The Music Man's take on the Floyd Rose style trem was designed by Dudley and BP with Eddie Van Halen; Eddie liked to palm the bar while playing, but didn't want to accidentally move the trem, so there's some play in the bar to allow for that. It's by design, and can't be "fixed".

yea it is the horse shoe shaped piece. Thats kinda dumb that it cant be tightened but oh well.

I apologize for bringing this old thread back TTT but is this true? Is there any way to tighten it?
