My only suggestion to not repeat anything that the other forumites have suggested is this:
On the instrument page, I see that there is an alphabetical organization of instruments. I think that the segregation of instruments based on their bass or guitar properties (as well as string amount ... 4, 5, 6 string basses / 6, 7 string guitars) would be a good addition. It would just make the navigation easier. That being said, to make the page a little shorter in terms of scrolling down, the pictures of the instruments could be a little smaller... that way it would provide more room for the instrument segregation.
One other thing, is that to save space, I think the left handed Silhouette Special page doesn't really need to be there... I know that I'm left handed and love the idea of having my own little area to look at guitars, but it just seems redundant. Every instrument page has the "left handed availability" line, so to have a left handed page is just unnecessary. To counter that, if the left handed thing is something that is going to happen, then has it been thought of to have a left handed section segregated from the guitars and basses? That way the average lefty can stop by and see that the Sil. Spec, Axis SS, Luke, Sterling, Sting Ray and Bongo are offered left handed.
Also, the addition of product registration is a grand idea. It will clear up space on the forum sticky area. Hahahaha.
I certainly like the streamlined layout though. Good job!
The pictures of the two Silhouette Specials do distinguish the HSS versus the SSS configuration, but then on each page it suggests that both are offered in HSS and SSS. This makes them redundant to me. I don't know though. I'm not the one building a website here!
man how lucky are we?!?!?!? I like the site, nice and easy and clean to use. I noticed a few of the thngs already mentioned here, apart from those minor thigns its pretty darn good.
I love it!!! The initial screen that slideshows all of the models was a great touch. I want to let you know though, that the Opera browser (my primary) has some trouble with it. With Internet Explorer, however, it goes smoothly. Great work!
I have a suggestion, if I may. On the "Media" page. Maybe it would help if the videos were given titles or descriptions on the right side, when you scroll over them? Right now, they're thumbnails and don't really tell you what you're about to watch...
I've got one word for the new site, though: SLICK.
As an aside; what software is that used for the Sterling 5 headstock on the Process page? I thought it might have been Inventor, but it looks like something else? Solidworks? AutoCAD?
I love it! Crisp, clean, easy to navigate. Photos are great. Love the colour samples. Love the Process page. Perfect! I'm a software developer by day, and "usability" is one of my pet obsessions. This new site rates very highly in terms of usabilty! (At times, it was a little sluggish at my end, but that could be the over-zealous firewall at work.)
Suggestion: on the main "Instruments" page, the labels of the JPs don't distinguish between the 6-string, 7-string and baritone models (unless you look closely at the pictures). To a person unfamilar with EBMMs, it might look like the Petrucci BFR model has been listed three times. The same is true for the Bongos, (though it's easier to see the difference between these). This is probably not a problem for knuckleheads, but might be confusing for new customers. It could be helpful to add labels saying "7 string" and "Baritone" to the appropriate Petrucci models, etc.
