Hey, at least those on this forum that don't like it are respectful about expressing their opinions. I've seen some of the comments on Facebook and elsewhere that acted as if it was some horrendous crime or something and not just a guitar. But they are also entitled to free speech, so what are you gonna do? It happens

I feel guitar making is very much an art form, so it's not really that different from any other "controversial" art piece.

You really have to tune the facebook stuff out....Last year John posted pics of his turkeys he smoked and they ripped him on those too....I would pay a fortune to be in the room with one of these guys and have them attack like they do to JP's face.....

I certainly hope no one takes Facebook seriously!!! Everybody is tough and a critic from the safety of their moms basement!!

Nice. Yep, I liked that bongo guitar at the open house... and now we've got it in a JP. John read my mind. a few years late, but we'll let that slide! :D

Is there any particular advantage to angled or not angled headstocks, or did jp just wasn't that look? Pay of me thinks looks because once the string is taut on both ends, anything that happens on the other side would only affect the harmonic series and tension on that side. But, if there is more angle I cam imagine that could affect running stability perhaps...but I have no real knowledge either way. Never really thought about it until the armada pics first surfaced.

If I had to guess, I'd say the bongo similarities probably have more to do with ideas John Mung's basses have him more than th gee bongo guitar proton... Be interesting over time to hear all our little imaginations addressed. Lol

I am curious if the carbon-fiber "shield" is only for decoration or also serves as some sort of tone-block. Also, it will be interesting to learn what was the main reason for the new body shape: tone, ergonomics, looks?

^ The "shield" is not actually carbon fiber. As I understand, the new body is 99% about ergonomics.

I really love the recessed switches and new bridge. Talk about sleek.

I've been having to post on my phone... I may have over looked it, is there a comment on the angled headstock in the discussion thread?

Man.. that Majesty logo looks phenomenal! That logo design has just the right aggressive qualities ... kinda silly in a way, but I think it's my favorite part of the guitar. LOL

Very interesting looking instrument. I love both colors and the neck-thru choice is great. I hope those colors one day are offered on the JP13 model.

Ultimately, the Majesty is not the instrument for me, aesthetically speaking. I thought the JPX through 13 designs were virtually flawless and for me personally, there is no reason to deviate from that body design. The body and horn shapes on the Majesty are not my personal taste.

Interested in hearing what it sounds like still.

Thanks for sharing, BP.

Did anyone already mention that there is quite some MAXXAS-vibe in the new JP design? I like that a lot!
