I’ll probably get flamed for this but I think Ric’s look like a high school wood shop project that got an F. :D

But hey what do I know, I’m a lefty… you know brain damaged, lack of oxygen at birth, raised my squirrels, I’m sure Ric’s are very cool, I’m just not cool enough to get it, that’s all. ;)

How they doin' now? Off to college? :D

I know Rickenbacker has an important place in the history of Bass guitars but have they:

*Redesigned there inferior bridges yet?

*Overcome the binding lifting from the body?

*Made their double truss user friendly for the home handy man?

Nope

In answer to all your questions.....1 year wait for all their products ordered through the factory....hmmmmmmm

I adjusted all my Rics....very easy for the intelegent person....never had a binding "lift"....and a bridge that is known for providing some of the best sustain, does not need to be redesigned....

But I now play M/M and also fond great qualities with that bass also.....making fun of the competition shows weekness....:D

But that's just my opinion......

I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a prize, or a discount, or anything, for making the most posts in a weeks time in the history of the EBMM board. :(

Those are the Ashtrays, from in the olden tymes, when real men could smoke and play bass at the same time.

'Nuf tails of King Arthuer. The real story is that it's a safety cover. On a time machine [triple entendre, 12 points] you need shielding against radiation, quarks, and beer. Anyway, they don't have them on Bongos, which is really all anyone needs to know about them. Real basses don't have them.

You've only ever owned one bass, and it's your Bongo? Jeez, you were born and or drug up with all your ducks in a row. Of course you've been deprived of all the adventure, and angst, and expense, of arriving in BongoLand by the 'scenic route', so take the time you never wasted and become the world's premier Bongoista. Maybe some day you'll be EBMM's first or only endorsee.

Golem...again, thanks for the info. You're posts are always great reading for me. I have been playing guitar for a while.......been through several other manufacturers until I came across EBMM. EBMM is all that I play now....which is a GREAT thing.

The bongo.....funny story on it. Real quick....wife wanted to get me a guitar for Christmas 2004. She liked the looks of the bongo (not realizing it was a bass, not a guitar) so she bought it. Lava Pearl, HH.....killer bass to say the least. So, I kept it to use and have just completely fallen in love with playing the bass. Still learning, but I am a quick learner and play in a band. We are still tightening up and writing, but I really enjoy thumping the bass. Thanks for all the help to you and the rest of the fellas here!

So your arm is getting better Steve?

Nope, still unable to hyperextend my wrist or fingers but I do have control in a gripping motion so I can "play" to some extent but due to my wrist disability I have to creep my thumb up over the board and fret notes flat fingered rather than with the tips of my fingers and I have no real use of my pinkie.

Just got back from more testing at my neurologist...not looking good. It appears I have two different nerve pinches going on complicating matters even more...I go in for an MRI after NAMM.

Pinches...all stems from an old neck injury from '94 when I feel off my house in Palm Springs and landed head first into a canyon...long story.

The wife buying you a guitar for a present is a very cool thing. I guess buying the Bongo could be called a happy mistake? I might buy my wife a guitar as a present, it doesn't matter that she doesn't play.;)
