So a compressed disc possibly....Do you take anti inflamitory meds?

Oh I have many compressed cervical discs...they want to cut my throat open, flop out my esophagus and cut out a few discs then cement my neck together and flop everything back in, sew me up and put me in a halo for 12 weeks.

Pinches...all stems from an old neck injury from '94 when I feel off my house in Palm Springs and landed head first into a canyon...long story.

Being one of the local additions to EB I pretty much know where your house in Palm Springs is/was. There's only so many places that have canyons. If you ever caught rock climbers walking through your yard heading for the canyons, I'll say thanks for not calling the cops/shooting/yelling or any other harassment.

Dude, go to a chiropractor and ask him about the DRX 9000 on you. If he thinks its a good idea, it could very well help you out in a completely non-surgical way. It SHOULD help with those compressed discs and possibly the pinched nerves. You might have to do it a few times a week for a long time, but the sessions are only about 30 minutes long and theres no surgery involved.

It might be worth your time to check out this link to get an idea of what happens. Maybe it will be the perfect solution to your problem.

Witch Doctor = Rock and Effing Roll

What could be more rock than a bone through your nose and a belt of shrunken heads.

I gotta rebutt here: If it were not for a chiropractor, I would probably not be walking and/or standing upright today. I had some major back issues from manual labor when I was much younger that had me bassically incapacitated, in constant pain.

I will always speak highly of my chiropractor. God bless that man, he's an angel!

You were very lucky....not all Chiros are bad, and they do help....but not with major soft tissue herniations and buldges....they usually make them worse...and it is now common place for a person to develope a stroke hours after a neck adjustment....no thanks been there...don't EVER want to go back....IMO

It was up on Southridge Drive 2 doors down the hill from Bob Hope's spaceship. (back in the "Dude CEO" days when I actually made money)

LMFAO! I lived on Mesquite Ave. when Bob's 'spaceship' went up in flames!

HA! Right where I was thinking. Those be some nice homes Steve. Back when I was a SleezySales and sometimes DeliveryMonkey for a furniture company I was in that area constantly. I used to live across 111 and a bit west from there where all the apartments are. That was before I wised up and got out of that cowtown. PS has really become the ghetto (with the exception of that hill where Bob lived) and the valley's center has shifted to Palm Desert. Now I live right behind El Paseo in PD and right behind Agusta so now I get all the freaking cover songs I can handle just by opening the front door.

I just really wished when the girl who sings for whatever house band they have there opens her mouth someone would shove a fist into it. Nothing is worse than her rendition of "Back on the Chain Gang". I wish Heins would protest her or something, I mean really. And even worse, you should hear them do the Tom Tom Club. There's really no amount of alcohol that can make it good, and I have freaking skylights so I can't get away from her horrid voice, and if you have to go outside to smoke it's game over.

My I'm rather desert-centric today. Seriously, this place rules. It's no suprise Big P moved on down.

Where does the thumb go? I really like the tone of a Ric. But I couldn't play it worth a damn. I thought the SR's lack of a forward thumb rest was bad but I couldn't find one forward or back on a Ric. 4004 perhaps? Mmmm....

Exactly! One of the big reasons I got rid of mine.

It was either put up with the horseshoe over the pickup, limiting fingering positions...or jam my thumb into the pickup cavity when I removed the sumbich!

Playing a Ric is an aquired tase....like letting a 2002 Ferrero Merlot breath before sampling it's bouque....I had no problem wtih thumb placement, as most of the time I used a pick....when resting the thumb, I used the 21st fret part of the neck....the bridge pup cover was a great arm rest......style fellas.....style.....

If limiting your fingering position(s) to one or two spots, effectively limiting your tone options, is 'style'...then you're right...I lack it.

Bass is good for BIG HUGE Bottom....My style of playing a RIC differs from other basses...I was only pointing out my style of playing the Ric that seemed to trouble some others.....I have no problem with the same tone...I'm a bassist, not a lead guitarist..... And besides, my Sting Ray has excelent tone no matter where I set my thumb......even there.......

No leads here, either (in fact, I hate to solo; personal preference).

But, I do like the option of changing up my right hand technique for the sake of attack and tone subtleties...without having a physical barrier mounted on my bass body.

A very good point....I understand what you are saying.....My "style" or whatever...is just big, clean, full crisp, bass playing....always has, always will be...I "slap" for fun, and I listen to those who are good at it with respect and awe.....
