Rayan,

I don't know exactly who,or what you are . But you are obviously a very intelligent, well spoken human being with a great sense of humor.

I just wanna thank you for those words sir. You have made my morning!

Rayan, in my defense, I don't spill beer on my 140c for the fun of it, I do it to wash the whiskey off before it gets sticky.

How about a horror story? Last Saturday night, someone decided to roll out all our gear to the trailer before the trailer was unlocked. While I was inside trying to find my bassist, who was in possession of the keys, I didn't realize our well meaning friends who were playing roadie that night had wandered off from the gear and back into the bar. After I got the keys I rushed out and loaded the trailer, than hopped in my car and left for the evening.

The next morning, I woke up feeling great (as I was the DD the night before) and ready for action, when I noticed I had messages on my machine. I hit the flashing button, with a sense of dread, no one calls me on that line unless it's important. I was greated by the panicked voice of my bassist, entreating all of the higher powers to make sure I had his SVT-Pro and rack.

I did not have it. It is still missing. The only saving grace is that he had removed his head from the flight case we normally haul for his setup, in favor of his smaller SKB rack. They got his SVT-Pro and Korg rack tuner. I'm just glad they didn't get the flight case, wireless system and the effects too.

Let this be a lesson, friends make sh*t roadies.

That's a friggin' nightmare! Hope it works out for you and your bassist

Back to Ampeg for a moment: I'm going on 6 months with the SVT 4 Pro and I've got no complaints...good tone, pretty versatile and LOTS and LOTS of headroom. I played an outdoor gig last year and it filled the stage. I've never had any luck getting a good sound outdoors...you know how the bass just dissappears without anything to bounce off of, but the Ampeg is just a monster.

If you need the power, the SVT 4 Pro with a good cab that can handle the power is real nice. I am running it into an Eden 410 XST rated @1000 watts at 8 ohms. In mono-bridge 8 ohm mode, the head is putting out approx. 900 watts. It's a stack killer.

The Ampeg combos can be nice, too.

Just my $0.02.

Whatever you play through, have fun!

Having been ripped off before, I'm X2Xtra careful, and even then,
- I get pi$$ed every time I pay 4 insurance, but
- I *know* I gotta have it

Every time I write a cheque, I can still hear the cops telling me
- "Good thing you have insurance", and
I remember the insurance agent explaining the bit about
- "Mysterious Disappearance"
