They can very easily do that on the phone, they choose to spend time out of their busy day to be here for the forumites

EB's staff spending time on these boards isn't being spoiled, its excellent customer service.

-Phil

Yah but what other company does that ?.....yah its FANTASTIC OVER THE TOP...customer service and we ARE spoiled !!! .....And not because of color's ....but the whole EBMM gang and the sneak peaks ...and the Knucklehead bash he hosts...and the artists he brings to us.....and STERLING WILL ACTUALLY TALK TO YOU AT NAMM WITHOUT BRUSHING U OFF!!!...Beleive me i go to NAMM and some other company's just plain are terrible at customer relations.........Some folks will never be happy ...me ill take what they offer and put in a few suggestions ...and be happy with that ....Simply because ...I AM in the music buisness and we have OWNED a store for 32 years and NOBODY out there can compare to what these guys do on ANY given day .....no argument wanted ....but this is the way i see it from my side of the fence!
Peace ,Love and Balls to all!

I actually think it's a rare occurrence.

Find me another board where the owners of the company participate, show off one-offs, prototypes and upcoming models, get their endorsed artists & partners to participate, throw parties at their expense for forum members, help out the less fortunate forumites ... (I could go on).

So ya, I hate to use the word "spoiled", but I do think the world Sterling has created here is pretty rare, and I feel very lucky to participate and benefit from his generosity.

As a noob to this board, I was shocked to see the interaction between the EB staff and the public. I think it's great. After reviewing the "updated" site, I STILL think they offer more options than most, at really reasonable prices.

How much do you think other companies would charge for something like the Morse and it's 11 pickup combinations? or the JP7 w/piezo.

I can't wait for the day I order a white morse.

Hmmm, just off the top of my head:

MOTU
Cakewalk/Sonar
Fractal (pretty sure)
Biotest
BB.com
Elite Fitness

I'm sure there are zillions of others, but those just happen to be the only ones I frequent.

....and STERLING WILL ACTUALLY TALK TO YOU AT NAMM WITHOUT BRUSHING U OFF!!!
????

FWIW the phrase" The Music Business" generally refers to- the music business, i.e. the recording industry, touring agencies, etc. etc.

I'm not trying to stir anything up here, but everyone keeps going back to the spoiled thing. Its getting a bit tired. We're paying for the guitars and some of them aren't cheap, so where's the spoiling going on? EB does give the choice of cool limited runs and such, but people are paying an upcharge for those, correct? Thats just my .02.

Careful, Big P may want to adopt you now too :p

My point is for a business the size of EB they offer ALOT and I seriously doubt Poppa breaks even on everything he offers.

I seriously doubt that too- as they wouldn't have been in business as long as they have been if they simply "broke even".
One of the reasons I went with a JP7 for my first seven string was because I felt it was a very respectable and versatile model guitar, and although it was a sig. guitar (which I'm generally opposed to) it had such a wide variety of color options, that it almost seemed like it wasn't a sig. guitar. I have seen many other people on various forums saying the same thing. It was all the different color options that made it "ok to be a sig guitar" - just like in the sense that a Les Paul is a sig. model, but there are so many different options, who cares?
When you take those options away, it becomes less attractive, which is what I and petruccirocks02 are upset about. We have every right to be and to voice our opinion. Just because our opinion differs from yours doesn't mean we're "bad-mouthing" the company or whatever you (and some others) seem to think. EBMM sell thousands of guitars a year (I'm assuming) and there are maybe 50 active, regular forum users? The majority of MM owners don't post on this board, so you need to understand that while you're the majority here, there are going to be A LOT of different opinions from MM owners outside this board.
Big P and co. are businessmen and I would think/hope they respect/value the opinion of their customers. And I'm sure they do, and that's part of why they've been in business as long as they have been. We're just giving them our feedback and presenting the outside opinion.

Hey, u talkin to me? NY
Is this a good time bring up my on-line custom shop idea again?

Seriously, I understand where Phil is coming from. We are all true die hard fans of the EBMM instruments otherwise, I don't think that we wouldn't be here. I think that EBMM is a unique company with a very unique CEO that runs the company like no other music company that I know. The fact that BP and his great staff comments on threads, posts and introduces new ideas/future releases is trully awesome but, it's also a very smart business decision. Interacting with your consumer on-line (if you can find the time) is brilliant and I would think improves on sales of new instruments. I trully think that EBMM and us the consumer benefit from this forum so, I don't think that we are spoiled. Fortunate yes, but not spoiled.

By the way, I hope that you feel better Lonney!

Much Love!

Some people just can't control themselves.

If you think I'm talking about you, you're probably right.

Apologies to those who were able to stay pointed in the right direction, but this crap is over the line stupid.

Jack

PS: Do NOT PM me about your freedom of speech, please. I'm a twenty year military veteran and understand what it is you can and cannot do, thanks in advance.

Spoiled is not the right world it could be used...thats fine I understand it... Im spoiled too. Insatiable? Maybe...thanks... Beating a dead horse? Yes and its hard to thank you for that. Pushing for more when its hard to do more tries my patience....Im sorry for that. I really am. It is the POSTS and not threads that exhibit classic signs of entitlement that will some day run me out of here.

Because I give information to you for many reasons....the first one being that you share my passions or I share yours...If it was strictly business I would not be here 7 days a week and have over 13K posts...I guess that I would appreciate it if I explain something that like that was not feasable to offer 27 colors and give the reasons why a dozen times that at that point we could move on
In the old days I would have argued with a guy like Willith...but not anymore I will respectfully ask him to try to not be as confrontational here as it isnt a good fit. Try to go a month without getting into a scuffle.....
