I have two sets of strings for my bongo 6. A set of roundwounds and then a set of nylon tapewounds. I decided to put my roundwounds back on and in the process my high c decided it was going to shred the thread at the top and so when I was trying to tune it up it would slip when it started to feel the tension.
Aggravated that it had shredded I decided to put my nylons back on. After I was dressed... I mean... Uh... I got the high c nylon string and it did THE EXACT SAME THING.
How can I prevent this from happening? My bass now has no tension there because I don't have another string. also my nylon set is now ruined 50 bucks gone.
I'm quite frustrated but I have cobalts (minus the high c obviously) on the way.
I took a picture of the nylon (which by the way I clipped twice after it shredded twice). How can I stop this? Also what high c would best fit with the cobalt 5 set?
