So...

i've got to share with ya guys...

On January 12, 2015 my wife and i sat out on a journey that was said to last no longer than 30 days... well after 66 days and three different "it's going to close for sure today" dates having come and gone and passing on this years NAMM. My wife and I are officially first time home owners as of today.

We were given the keys shortly after the process began so we could do the renovations we wanted as we moved along. It has turned out to be really a fun (for the most part) process obviously mixed in with the typical hiccups along the way... but we did it. We saw it from beginning to end and now it's all OURS!

Now to draw it back to guitars...

I have an alcove on one of the main walls where i'm going to be hanging my guitars as art and easy access for me to grab and play. and the acoustics of the house... KILLER!!!

I'm guessing you bought this from a family member if you were able to actually get keys and do things to it prior to signing the papers?

Everyone likes to say 30 days...but the reality is 6 weeks is the minimum for a mortgage and the reality is closer to 8 weeks.

Anyways, congrats. There is something very special about having a home thats yours and being able to make it your own. I'm on house #2 and its still as fun as it ever was.

It is important to note that renovations begin shortly after moving in and conclude a few months before selling.

Owning a home is extremely rewarding. Congrats.

Perhaps installing all new matching finish: door handles, bathroom fixtures, ceiling fans, lighting fixtures, curtain rods etc.
Pretty much unify the home accent colors kinda thing.

Bees... An infestation of Africanized Bees in the roof of your house. Learn to kill them then remove a 3ft x 3ft hive with approximately 80lbs of unusable honeycomb from your attic. There went NGD 2015!

Ps. Pay to have them removed, don't do it yourself. Killer Bees are no joke...

yeah... we were able to get in early because the seller was known... and the home was vacant. Its about a 10 year old house so structurally its in incredible shape.
it was all updated with fresh paint - slate floors - new LED lighting throughout the house - new baseboards - new landscaping in the backyard - switches - sockets - etc. I think ive met every corner of that house and really stoked. I'll have to share some photos of the wall once it's done. Doing the painting of that wall tonight before we move in on Saturday. Can't hardly wait...

for now between my father in law and myself we've looked at all electrical and plumbing and got everything in tip top shape everything else has been checked out and I think we'll be doing good for a while.

The hardest part of it all was dropping that down payment- that was a lot of balls - more to come down the line but still LOL

Yeah, I see you're in Nor-Cal - and real estate don't go cheap out there in The Golden State....

Out here in the cornfields, you can get a double-wide at the end of a gravel road for pretty near nuthin'!
