Perfect if you like the tranquility. I like it every now and then but it's seriously about an hour to the nearest Wal-Mart or movie theater.

I'm from that neck of the woods, so it will always be home to me. I'm from Independence VA, about seven miles away from Elk Creek and as kid I had a summer job planting pine trees there. I had to go by that house and I always thought it was cool and now we own it. There is a horse farm across the road and the road is THE main road. We sit on the front porch and wave the passers by...corny huh? Elk Creek is not a town, we have a post office, an elementary school, a general store/gas station/ diner and farms and of course several churches.

The big event there is the "Grayson County Fiddlers Convention" (and now our party), we walk across a field out back to the convention, they don't enforce drunk walking.

I wish I were there now... but I will be there for a couple of days this week, but not today, cause I'm under house arrest!
