White Silo

My first EBMM guitar was a white Silhouette - and she was a beauty - sold her to a gentleman in Munich. I trust he is loving her every minute he has her in his hands. Since then, I've learned lots more about EBMM guitars and now realize the error I made. So, I yearn for a white Silo once again. However, my three Sub1's and two Al's bring comfort and joy every day. But I still remember my first, she was special.

I used to have 12 Ibanez's including one that was made for Andy Timmons. i sold all but 2 for gear or one sort or another, including Balls of course! I still have some other bits and pieces lying around, but they dont get touched apart from a Squier hot rod thing that i use for my finger exercises.

EBMM guitars that left my hands:

Axis my first EBMM, loved the guitar itself, just couldn't bond with the Floyd Rose
traded my JP6 and JP7 towards my BFR JP6

other brands I've let go, too many to count but they've been in the PRS, TCM, Gibson, Fender, G&L family.

EBMM rules!!!

I sold an amber Axis hardtail because it did not sound as nice as all the others. Plus whoever had it before put some weird muck on the neck! It tried to get rid of it, but it was some kind of thin varnish. Also I think it had a dodgy fret job at one point. It had to go.

I used to have a Silo 24 fret HSS at one point years ago, but it really didn't bond with me at the time.

Huh, thinking about it I've sold a bunch of EBMMs:

- Pearl Red Silhouette Special
- Burnt Apple Silhouette Special
- Blue Dawn Silhouette Special (didn't even get to play that one ...)
- Red Axis Sport HH w/ piezo
- Natural StingRay 4
- Blue Luke
- Pearl Blue Albert Lee
- Trans Gold Axis Super Sport
- Black Luke
- Blueburst Steve Morse

and I'm about to sell a White Axis Sport.

Jeez ... 11 ... that's actually way more than I remembered ...

I've bought 18 Music Man Guitars, all new from authorized dealers.

I've sold 6 of those, all to forum members, or friends/relatives of forum members.

I returned 1 to the dealer for a refund after two weeks (it was a Luke BFR, I just can't bond with the Luke neck, though not for lack of trying).

So, I still have 11 Music Man guitars...plus a 25th Anniversary on order, due in April.

I sold my second MM SS ( my first one is Stingray II ´78), a beautyful sunburst guitar about one year ago...in january 09 I bought it again :) ( I always regretted selling it) so now I own the SS, one JP, SMY2D and the old Stingray.

None sold, and no intentions of selling unless it is to finance another EBMM purchase.

My Silo Special was purchased here from JohnC (thanks again!), and my JP6 was bought new.

I really have no interest in any other brands, and occasionally think of getting a new Silo Special with Piezo because I like that feature a lot on my JP6.

Cheers,

Jbert

I bought and sold many basses, none of which I cared to regret, with the exception of a 1990 StingRay 5 Trans Red which had a lovely Alder body, alnico pickup, and the preamp was the one with the TL062 chip.

That bass sounded like nothing I have ever found after I sold it, soooooo regrettably for me, because when I decided to buy an exact model in 2002 I was faced with a different body wood (Ash) different pre-amp with a LF444CN chip and a ceramic pickup  which might be in line with other people's taste but not to me.
Eventually I have had to seek hi & lo find an alnico pickup replacement from a different source. and with that on, I was pleased that the new Sray5 sounded a lot like the original. As for the wood I can't really tell the difference but with the Alnico pickup I certainly can.

The moral of the story is, if you find an EBMM instrument that you love and that it's perfect YOU, do not sell it because chances are you might not ever find one like it.

Buying and selling is part of the fun!

I have sold many guitars, but only one Ball so far, and that was my Burnt Apple Sparkle Silo. In fact, I have kept the SUB longer than any guitar I've owned.
