Is there a MB Combo that has a LM2-equivalent amp in it?
And since you can't buy it anymore (the LM2), can anyone tell me if the LM3 is as good?

I believe that all of the combos currently use the LMII for the head. I am almost positive that the mini 121P and the 102P do for sure... and am almost certain that all the others currently do too.

I think you can still buy the LMII by itself too. It is for sale at MF and GC.

Being the old hillbilly I am. What is causing the Little Mark II to shutdown over heat issues? Other than heat. :D Most amps don't shutdown why should it?

A guitarist/engineer just happened to be talking about bass amps, guess what he mentioned? "you know, there's a great high-end sounding bass amp out there with the orange speakers."

Can't afford more GAs

It's Italian. It's temper-mental.

And it probably thinks that every once in a while a siesta is a good way to chill down... :D

I've never heard so much s**t in my life before, for a start, it is mexicans or spaniards that have what you call "siesta", and as for the italians having a temperamental attude it's just another stereotype like saying that all swiss are good for is to make cheese with holes in them?

do not stereotype please it don't suit you. Oh and it was far from funny.

As Pete Murray has explained in another thread, the number of reported LMII problems is less than 0.5% of total units sold. It's natural for people who have a problem to bitch about it online, but I'm guessing the other 99.5% of buyers are very happy with their LMIIs, since if the thing works perfectly all the time then it's not something you go to the trouble of starting a thread about.

I owned my LMII for 3 years and it hasn't missed a beat.

I really was just wondering what it was with the few that did. They sound great and are small and light. Probably just didn't ask in the right thread.

OK Lets not make snegative stereotypical comments .....it seems the only fair games these days are americans.

TK I know how you feel about GW but lets keep this off the boards.

Back to mark bass....and the overheating....this is another reason why I hate CAS threads

Someone had a problem (could have been them mis matching the impedience) Mark Bass fixing it but they perpetuate a urban legend that easily comes to mind as evidenced right here. I have about a dozen mark bass stuff and no problems....we use them on two stages of the warped tour with 30 bands a day playing half hour sets of not very gentile music or care from the bands and they are workhorses...much more reliable than when Ampeg was the amp of choice on our stages

BP I apologize to the whole forum except for the one person that spouts more than any whale and totally pisses me off and ruins my forum time.

I won't need banned unless you would like that BP. I just won't be spending much time reading more posts by one person than any other.

Every Markbass amp I have heard sounded good.

you got a problem with that?! ;)

Back to the MB stuff: I've never heard about these heat problems except on the internet. I can only imagine that it might be climate related, and therefore rather hard to track.

TK you should check them out. The huge sound & tiny weight are hard to resist.

(oh, and I think it's great that there's a European made amp actually worth of exporting to the US)

Oli I have. Had to loan my Peavey out to so a fellow player could get his gig done.

It may have been one of a few. Lord knows I am one of a few that even owns a bongo in Kansas.

I tried to ask a legit question. I in no way meant to defame the Mark Bass. They are great sounding amps I have been plugged into one.

There is a reason the percentage shut off when in a hot environment. I was asking why while Peter seemed to be answering all questions.

I wouldn't mind not sluffing that heavy old Peavey to every upstairs gig. But, I do need to have something that will work as MY EB Basses do time after time. No matter where I play. It gets rather hot in Kansas at times.

As for my other problems it requires a duel. :D

Markbass is one of the reasons I found this forum back in 2006. They had just started to show up and I did some Google searches and found some of the discussions here. While I was lurking in the shadows I saw the Bongo love fest going on, I bought a Little Mark II and thought about trying a Bongo out. Two years later (!?) I bought a Bongo and plugged it into the Markbass- the hook was set- hard.
