Hey, u talkin to me? NY
I spoke to a local guitar shop owner who knows everything and he told me that JP is actually leaving the music business and is going to be opening up a chain of Petrucci Gyms across Long Island NY. I hope that settles things!

Wasn't the last guy to leave Benji Madden? Or was he dumped because he started an affair with Paris Hilton?

Just curious
;)

I still don't understand how Benji Madden managed to get a deal with EBMM, I really can't imagine him in the same group with for example Morse, Petrucci, Luke, etc...

I think it's been said before, but at that time Good Charlotte were really big and having Benji Madden playing an EBMM was great exposure for EBMM to attract a younger demographic.

About that pic of JP with the PRS: it was given to him by Mark Tremonti as a gift and he used it for the writing of Train Of Thought.

Well there ya go. Who you gonna believe, BP or some clueless music store dude?

As for Benji ... I believe that one has been discussed to death already.

I'm pretty certain I know who this music store owner is. His story is evolving:rolleyes:

I don't do business with the guy because he seems to be unfamiliar with the truth on a number of subjects.

John Petrucci actually works at my local GC, so I'll ask him next time I go in. Totally forgot about that!

Why is this thread still here?

Nobody would put guys with your reputation in doubt....you simply wouldn't tell stories like the one mentioned, as there is so much more you can talk about when you sell guitars :)

(Note: I deleted the comment I did a while ago...just unfair....so I had the feeling, I'd better self-censor....before others do ;-) )

^^This I would be more inclined to believe having seen the state of him recently!

He was wearing long sleeves at the recent Wembley DT gig, probably because if he was in short sleeves there wouldn't have been room on the stage for him, La Brie and Myung!

The best similar story I once read on a Genesis board was that Genesis were about to reform to play and tour Lamb Lies Down On Broadway in it's entirety, as Tony Banks had been in this music shop, shopping for keyboards and had just happened to drop this rather massive scoop casually to the shop owner!!

I like the idea of Tony Banks wandering around the keyboards in a local music shop having the odd tinkle here and there going, 'S'cuse me mate, how much is this one?':D:D:D

I was surprised it was still alive based on the title of the thread, not because of someone's ignorance. And believe you me, I am fully capable of telling stories along those lines! hahaha
