Well, I think it's like the current election polls - a dead heat.

I haven't figured out what you do to get back. I know you do but guess I haven't hung out at the pit long enough to catch on, but you guys make me laugh.

Right now I am still at work recovering a server and need a grin or two. Life is good most of the time.

Or listen to Steve Barr et al talk about my Bongos.

Some basses ARE ugly. When I have nothing good to say about one of those basses, I try to say nothing.

In cyberspace, no one can hear you snickering.

Yeah, I notice this is the first time you've chimed in, too.

Just kidding. Do you think I'd own a pink bass if I cared what people thought?

If I win the lottery, the first thing I'm doing is sending Dude a Bongo with Powerbass strings on it. That'll learn 'im.

I love your bookends too. It's funny that all the basses in the middle are pointy headstocked though...

I love those basses. I still regret not picking one of them up when I had a bit of extra money.

Are you playing it without the pickguard?

I'm debating ordering a clear pickguard for the fretless white Bongo. I can't decide. Whaddaya think, Mark--clear, or tort for the white Bongo?

Yes, that's the Japanese model that is no longer available, so if you see one in a store anywhere you'll need to jump on it if you really want one. When I bought mine a year ago there were a lot of them on special because they were being discontinued. I bet there are still some sitting around in stores all over the place.

Well spotted, I took the pickguard off (I play fingerstyle all the time), because the stock pickguard was a smokey grey clear color, which looked fugly in my opinion. The finish on the paisley basses is polyurethane, so you couldn't scratch the finish with a pick anyway no matter how hard you tried, so the pickguard isn't necessary (provided you can live with the screwholes).

For your white Bongo, I like the idea of a plain white pickguard, and I also agree that tort would probably look super.

I just saw a white Strat with a mint green guard.....I bet that would look nice on the white Bongo.

Just a thought.

It's funny you say that--I saw some of the mint green pickguard auctions from dazbootman, and thought about a mint green Bongo guard. Hmmm.....decisions, decisions....

I really think Tort is the next best thing to what you already have on there monkee.

Tort was the original plan. that's why I traded my H/H tort guard to Bovine for his H/H white pearl guard for my black sapphire Bongo.

I just sent Bryan Boots an email for a tort guard AND a mint green guard.
