Be careful about too many people calling in and tipping the store....

That's the bass no doubt Someone needs to call The Local Police, they will Make the Store hold the bass for proper Identification. Canada Has this Law or at least it did when i was living there, Just like California, and used instruments have to be help for Police check for 30 days.

That law is still in effect. Even without the serial number the back of the headstock is pretty unique.

Even if he hasn't filed a report, surely he should be able to claim it if he can prove it is his, which he can?

I don't know, looking at the the two pics side by side, it doesn't look the same to me. But I hope that's the bass for his sake.............

It's gotta be his. The grain, to me, looks identical.
Does anyone know how to get a hold of the original poster?

Great ! Just in case, I also sent him an email message, though I'm not sure that is very helpful...
I pray for him to pop up soon enough.

No luck with the numbers, one was not it, the other one I left a msg...
Could also be that he lives with his parents... anyway he will surely check his
e-mails before long.

It would just be awesome if it's his and he gets it back! ...

Sure, and we obviously all hope so.
BTW, the problem is not that the drummer "friend" is a b*st*rd : the real issue is that the drummer's family is a b*st*rds' family, according to what appears to be their complicity...
Well, let's cross fingers and hope he recovers his Sterling.

What differences do you see?

His bass has something by the knobs and the bottom horn, can't really make out what it is. The bass on the right is very clean. Nothing in those areas.

I think it's just a rather poor quality pic/reflections because the grain to me looks identical.
Personally, i'll be shocked if it's not the same bass.

FWIW a little more detective work::) the back of the headstock has a Steve's sticker on it so the bass would have to come from the east. I believe the owner is from Quebec and lost it in BC so that fits.
