Wow, those two bases look very much the same! I thought I saw some differences in the grain, but I see the same curves in the same spots. Man I hope this works out!

I contacted the seller via ebay and he refuses to disclose the serial # before a sale is final. Here is his response:

Hi! I'm sorry but I cannot provide SN/ before sale is over; store policy. I will try and find out year and I will post it on eBay.

Has anyone spoken to the manager on the phone?

Helllooooooooooooooooooo Someone needs to call the police, Not sharring the serial number is Bull****. He knows its hot and wants it sold and out of his hands.
No reason to hide a serial number unless it's hot bottom line, been doing this stuff for 35 years and the ones hiding from serial info is usually a hot guitar.

I called the Surrey Police, their response was that someone needs tog o down there to physically see the SN and then if it does match tell the store it's stolen and the cops will come and seize it.
BUT!!
has it been listed as a stolen item?? I think we're still waiting to see that. I might try to get down there tomorrow morning before work.

Officer Friday, over and out

Hey Psyhicpet thanks, This poor kid is out a Bass and if this serial number matchs then we'll know the store knew too,
Not sharring a serial number puts my bet 99.9.9% its his bass.
When it's your only bass then it means alot to this guy who lost it, and your help could possibly bring someones dream back.
Thanks DJ
