Hey, Jay, whereabouts in France are you? I'm visiting France next week on vacation.

I live in the South, somewhere "under" Montpellier.
If you get in this area, give a call, you're welcome !
(sending you my cell phone number by PM)

Cheers
Jay

Thanks, I'm staying North though, Honfleur and Épernay.

Shame, down near Montpellier is beautiful, I was there on my motorbike in June.

It's funny how we all feel like family :) But it's a feeling I wouldn't trade for the world :D

I find it a little crazy that we are all drawn together by a product. But damn, what a product!

Good News / Bad News......

Good News... i found the place.
Bad News..... the place is as shady an establishment as you could guess (IMHO).
Anywho, ofcourse due to being in "storage" I couldn't actually see the bass after repeated requests but the situation was explained and i have 2 stinkin' suspicions, 1) this dude feels its hot and is gonna try to screw witht he serial # and 2) I don't htink JeanFredric had filed a stolen property report.

SO... I have put a call in to the Surrey RCMP and am waiting to hear back but I think JF might just be f'd , sad to see but we'll keep the heat on.

Waow, that sucks. Actually, the 2nd point sucks more than the 1st one, IMO.
If the S/N is messed by the seller, EB registers may prove it (unless he is lucky enough to replace the S/N by one of another bass with the exact same specs ! - quite impossible). So if the S/N is proved to be messed, the seller may have to give explanations anyway !

But the 2nd point sucks more : if J-F did not file a stolen property report, this means we normally can't do anything for him, at least in a legal way. :(

I hope it works out for JF too; I'm afraid if he is finally reached and sees this thread and never filed a police report, he's gonna feel even worse than he initially did when the Sterling was stolen...

Yes, but if he still has the invoice of the bass, may this be enough for him to recover it from the pawn shop ?

The problem is he is in Montreal and the bass is in Vancouver. All the way accross a very big country. Man, he is going to be really p*ssed if he is too late coming to the party. Poor guy.

Should I report this to Ebay and try to get the auction canceled?
