Hossinn said:2. I saw on "The Dudes" website that EB offers the option of a fretless with lines or fretless without lines. I like the idea of fretless for the sound I am going for but don't think I would be confident without the lines on the fretboard. Is it "rookie" to have a fretless with the cheater lines on it, or is it still "cool"? I wonder if I got a fretless without the lines if I would adapt, or find myself in another head spinning confusion as I was after purchasing a 5 string, with that damn low Bthat I wish I could utilize more freely...

Some people have argued with me that Ernie Ball basses in general are for slappers only, that they are all really bright sounding, and for these reasons are not good fatman, thick, low end basses...are these people simply uneducated and possibly do not know the bongo (which I am starting to understand is probably the most low ended EB) or is there some truth to those comments?

By the way, I do not slap at all and do not like a bright, stringy sound.
