This is stuff you see in the movies. I was sitting in the lounge room watching tv and these guys burst into the house and stole my computer and wallet. Right in front of us! It really freaked out my girls (aged 6 and 9). Police and dog squad are out looking for them now. What's wrong with this world?

Colin this is very bad news, one of my best friends moved to Brisbane from London, over 10 years ago, and we have kept in touch ever since, he lives in the Eight Miles Plains area of Brizzy postcode 4113, not sure how close you are from there, he is a biker like me, everytime I talk to him (apart from bragging about the good wheather you guys have compared to London) he tells me how safe it is to live in that area and that you can live your bike and car unlocked just parked outside the house and no one would touch them, but this is worrying news for sure, is the crime situation worsened that bad there?

Hope the cops catch those criminals that burgled you and lock them up for good.

Cheers

I just asked my friend if crime was on the rise there in Brisbane and this is what he said to me:

I think it is the times we live in. It also depends where in Brisbane they live, do you know what suburb they live in? My garage door stays open all day most days & have never had anything stolen, the garage has direct access into the house.

Cheers
Kev

this happened at 7:20pm these guys broke thru my back door in front of the kids. It was planned. I'm in a new estate and the house backs onto parkland.

Wow Colin, that sucks man. I'm glad you and your kids are ok. Hope they catch them, but it' usually doubtful. I've noticed that crime is on the rise here in the US. With more and more people out of work, people are doing a lot of really stupid things. Bank Robberies, hold ups and robberies in general.

Hang in there man and get your kids to talk to someone man, it'll help.

that's terrible Colin glad you and family are safe but it's a weird world we are living in.

just before Christmas kids broke my car in from of y house while we were all inside. didn't even notice until the Police knocked on my door around 10:30 PM to tell me my car has been broken and visited. The same night the did the same to 11 cars in the neighborhood.

Guess what? one of the kid lost his mobile in one of the broken car, he was heard by the police and released  Not enough evidence I guess (while my car was full of finger prints)

Cost me 400 Euros to get the car fixed that I can not get back from the insurance until the police decides the guy the caught is responsible which is unlikely to happen

Hope you had a backup of you computer data, at least they did not touch your guitars

Bad news my friend What are they moth collectors? I cant see why they would take YOUR wallet unless they wanted the moths that live in it....
I loved those moths, we'd been together all these years. Actually all my emails orders photos where on that computer. I hadn't backed up for Feb, real pain.

**** Colin, that's horrible.
Really hope the girls are alright... Just glad no one was injured.

Thank goodness they didn't get the house/car keys too... Last thing you need is someone loading up your car with your guitars never to return. Depressing the way things are going these days. :(

Colin,

No one takes crime more seriously than I do!!! That is a crime worthy of the "death" penalty!!!

I was involved in a home invasion when visiting my mom's house and I ended up in the hospital.

You're ok and your kids are ok, so that's cool. God will always have the last word anyway.

Are personal weapons illegal in Oz same as they are here in UK?

I'd love me a tazer!

When I used to live in Italy I was well tooled up, (I used to have a hunting gun license by the way which also covered hand guns so it was all legal) but here it's against the law, unfortunately.

Glad that you're OK Colin. Unfortunately, it's on the increase everywhere. Not a nice thing to have happen to you.

Colin - the important thing is the 3 of you are OK - everything else is just stuff,

And how pissed will they be when they go to open your wallet to find rob's home number, 3 worn down EB picks, a heather loclkier pinup and bus fare home!

Still if it'd been dizzy's house they'd be bound and in the basement waiting for Zed to show up!

Take Care - and I hope they get them
