That is absolutely unacceptable! Right in front of your kids? Who does stuff like that? Speed Freaks? Rap Music fans? Young Republicans?...

Here in the States, I got me a Browning Automatic Rifle which makes a hell of a racket, let alone the mess!

Someone (actually, it's hard to tell form what's left of 'em) broke into my Subaru last Thursday night to steal my CD player out of the dashboard and unfortunately for them, they made a little too much noise and I've got an insomnia problem....
I'm out on bail, but now I may be going to prison and my wife needs to buy a new car 'cause there's nothing left but powdered glass and shards of plastic, sheet metal and the stench of un-ignited gasoline.
Watcha gonna do?

Stay safe and try not to harbour any resentments. They'll only destroy you in the end.

that's quite a first post Jimi. Welcome to the forum and I appreciate your thoughts. My girls are at their grandparents so hopefully we can get back to normal sooner rather than later

This is stuff you see in the movies. I was sitting in the lounge room watching tv and these guys burst into the house and stole my computer and wallet. Right in front of us! It really freaked out my girls (aged 6 and 9). Police and dog squad are out looking for them now. What's wrong with this world?

Glad to hear you and the family are ok!!

If they had done it here, they would have been carried off in body bags!

R

And I just happen to have some body bags! :D

Colin, that's horrible. Hope your girls can get a sense of security back; sometimes, a dog or security system can help ease young one's fears.

Colin-

i'm so sorry to hear that this happened to your and your family. my prayers and with you and for your girls to find comfort knowing that their dad will protect them and keep them safe.
I hope the cops are able to find them and put them away... nobody should have to go through this.

I know what you're going through (kind of) i had someone break into my truck many years ago and destroyed everything inside.

Did they take the Laker fanny pack you got at the game? I hope not.

Sorry to hear about this buddy. What a last couple years you've had.

The F#ckers.

Makes me sick to my stomach how these bastards think it's OK to just take stuff that someone else has worked hard for - and to do it while someone is home !

Way back when I was at school, we got knocked off.
Was talking about it with some mates, telling them what got stolen....... his little brother (3 yrs younger than us) overheard and started describing each of the items.

He told us the little turd who broke in took all the stuff to school and was bragging about it.

Well, my little bro and I were known to be able to look after ourselves pretty well - and when word got to this kid that we were on our way to get him he actually ran to the principal's office and asked for protection.
When asked "what for", he confessed to all of it !

Police got involved and he got a slap on the wrist.

Is it any wonder they don't get discouraged !!!

I bet you my left nut that he'd have thought twice about ever doing it again if we'd have got to him first !

Finally got my own back about 3 yrs later when I confronted him at a party.
Nothing agro, just something like "Oi, you're that little **** who broke into my house a couple of years ago !"

Yeah, big tough criminal right ?, nope Scrawny little bastard actually pissed his pants

Sorry to hear that, man

This is what people see when they get to my door.

And this baby is nice to me, my wife and my boys.

Strangers, when I'm there, OK. When I'm not, not so much.

Dizzy,

Yeah, there's an "easy" cure to theft!! If you ain't got no hands, then you can't steal anything.

However, the population appears to rather have the thefts, they're the ones who elect the scum bag game show hosts (great job *%#$*@ politicians!!)

Yeah, over here in California they've now designated it a "non-violent" act and is considered a very light crime (not even worthy of investigation).

Gee, why don't we just arrest the "victim"?? *Not mean't to be political just truthful.

Now, if we can just get the rest of the country to follow Texas' lead!!

Yeah, I hear they are getting ready to pass a law in Calif that states:

". . . . .if a home owner catches a theif in the act of burglarizing his home or business, then the home owner is instructed to help him load the stolen goods into his awaiting car; and if he does not have a car then the home owner is required to furnish him one."

The good news is that it is only a misdemeanor for the home owner.
