Do we know its a boost on the LIII?

Yes 12 db, also there's a preamp that maintains volume between Humbucker and single coils. Hard to explain in words, I'll try and shoot some video to explain. I love the Luke 3 very well thought.

BTW, anybody know if any cobalt strings are on the display models? That would be a double win to be able to try these out. These seem like a revolutionary string.
Yes, Pat Park was playing the Albert HH with Cobalts today. I will be definitely going over to cobalts. I love the magnetic aspect of these strings.

It was once said that the sparkle finishes were not popular, right? Well, I think EBMM is the only company that can make a solid finish look incredible tasty! Look at that JP finish... Man..

So no stallion huh? Bummer. Digging the jp12 color! Want to know all the specs of course. Read that they used different woods for the body.

So NAMM is in Anaheim. I'm only about an hour from there. Is it open to the public? Or invite only still? I don't care if i have to pay money. I just want to go!!

You and me Devin. I am just a couple of miles from Anaheim. The worst torture (no offense, BP) is being so close, yet not being able to attend. :(

love the idea of the LukeIII boost and the preamp.... even volume from pick up to pick up sounds like a great thing to me!

makes me ask the question are both the HH and HSS III versions passive or active pickups... i know the boost and preamp are powered of course

I think the pickups on both HH and HSS LIII's are DiMarzio from previous threads and discussions about the guitar. I'm rather fond of passives, so that's cool. Cant wait to hear the full specs on these! That Olive Gold like HH LIII is like the Ring that rules them ALL, and it's calling my name...myyyy preciooouusss! hehe

you have to get a pass from a music retailer or supplier to get into NAMM... at least this is what i was told...

True - it's not open to the public as a lot of business is transacted on the floor. However, if you have a good relationship with a dealer sometimes you can get passes.

They have tried "public days" at the much smaller summer show the past two years (both shows were held in Nashville) - however, the summer show has been quite small since the economy took a downturn a few years ago. Last year I believe it was only a 3-day show with the third day being the public day. That day was also tied to a music education inititative if I'm remembering correctly.

Can EB just release the specs already so everyone can dump their current guitars to buy the new one and I can get their guitars cheap :)

The Luke 111 looks so wierd without EMG's and that's not in a bad way. I think it was about time Luke had a change of direction.
Time to start saving me thinks..

Im really loving everything about that LIII. The logo is really cool too. Now can anyone confirm if the body is actually bigger? That would really be another major plus for me. Thid would be a great replacement for my 20th Silo. HH, 22 frets, rosewood neck, trem...perfect! Now time to start saving up!
