well yeah, the options they have are fine if you happen to like the options.
but you're right, a lot of what I'd personally be interested in is relatively minor. neck and tremolo issues, etc...Y2D's are my favorite (the neck and body), but I use regular tremolos a lot (but not Floyd's)

I guess what I was trying to get at is that for EBMM, a "custom shop" wouldn't make much sense, but I would think that they could accommodate most needs through the addition of a relatively small number of options, i.e. fret options, figured top options, neck/body wood options, and finish options. It does kinda stink that the Morse doesn't have the EBMM trems.

the guitars of my dreams would look like this:

Y2D (trem. version), roadsted neck, ebony board, stainless steel frets, reverse headstock...one in trans black quilttop and one in solid white with black body binding and black hardware.

nothing which is too far away from the regular line, but just a few tweaks to my personal taste. :)

24 fret silhouette 2HB. Mahogany body. Flame maple top. Roasted maple neck. Rosewood board. Regular tremelo. Jumbo SS frets. Abalone offset dot inlays like Ibanez does. Natural clear finish on the body. Duncan JB/59 pickup combo. All passive electronics. 3 way toggle switch with a push pull tone pot for coil split.

I'd like a red quilt EVH with a few mods. Firstly a black headstock, carved arched top, the Axis belly cut, HSS pickups,push/pull coil taps to negate using a 5-way switch, tunematic bridge with fine adjusters on the stoptail. I seem to recall seeing a picture of this bridge configuration on one of the original pre production models!

I know BP would probably kick me right in the pants for this, but.... I would just love the EVH back. But they parted. Still ebmm made some of his best guitars. I love the peaveys too though.

'EBMM Boutiqe' beats any custom shop IMO, I've been trying to come up with something but everything falls short of my wish for an HSS Luke with Full RW or Roasted Maple neck. :)

Not so much a custom shop project as technically the Majesty is superb, but, perhaps a BFR model could feature some grained or or otherwise visible wood where the faux carbon currently is. The matte finish is Devine. Keep that. Just out some nice beautiful wood where the etched maple is.

Not really, the JPX has a 15" radius, bigger frets, BLACK HARDWARE!!! and that amazing Barolo finish.
If only the JPXI had a black hardware option...

Only messing haha, the JPX is definitely my favorite of the series. If you keep your JPXI long enough to wear down the frets look into getting a refret and reradius the fretboard/frets to 15", then swap hardware with a stealth JP :D then a refinish to seal the deal! I've actually swapped necks on two JPs already and it was a cool mod, I'll detail that in my NGD soon!

The only deal-breaker with the JPX for me has been the 5-way switch. I really don't care about radius specs or fret-sizes as long as I have a few days to get used to the guitar, after that I can swap guitars and adapt within minutes. I don't know what changes are coming for 2015 on the majesty but I guess my next guitar will be a JP6 BFR cherry burst or tobacco sunburst (if Music Man is open to do it, don't know if they can because it is not a "standard" color).

With that I could have almost every type of JP guitar considering that my JPXI would cover the jpx, jp12 and jp13.

MM Luke III HSS with a minihumb in the neck and the possibility to have it split (ok that I can do myself). Also I'd like a slightly flatter radius and slightly taller frets

I think last time my answer in a similar tread was mildly different from this: A Reflex body with less or no chambering, vintage tremolo, piezo, unfinished roasted maple neck, ebony fretboard, SS frets, a slightly wider neck at nut.

Plain black finish would do it although black sugar shouldn't trouble my mind either! :p There was a custom Reflex with gold hardware made by EBMM for a guitarist in some band a while ago which was pretty cool and similar.
