Hey JJ - you're failing in your duties !
- or are Mods allowed to thread hijack!

Ahh, my good man. Your doubt is discouraging to someone of my stature and for one who takes his position very seriously. Were you to read said posts, they were not off-topic. They were simply expanding on the idea of creating Axis Hardtails in the future. It is my number one recommendation, because of how badly I want one, and it has simply been discussed further than one or two posts. There is also emotion involved in it as well (judging from the amount of hate I seem to be throwing around) so let's not nail me to the cross just yet, sir.

I'm doing my job phenomenally, despite certain people calling me on it. RECOGNIZED!

I've got an Axis and a Silo (in seafoam green- is this an unusual color by the way ?) and I'd love to be able to have these with wide flat maple necks. And an archtop Axis with the wide flat neck and coil-splitting would be even better........

So, I have been thinking about it, and I think the boys down at the factory should screw up and accidentally make a left handed Axis Rosewood.

"Oh man, we don't have a left handed floyd rose. We'd better put on a hardtail and advertise this on the forums. I'm sure someone will want to take it off our hands. I can't believe we screwed up so badly!"

And of course being the excellent moderator I am, I will moderate their situation by purchasing said guitar and stating "It wasn't a screw-up at all! It was cleverly planned." and voila! The moderation is done, I get an amazing guitar, and everyone wins.

I'm a lefty who's adapted to the right-handed style of guitar playing. It's a tough decision. Do you choose a faster picking or fretting hand????

When you can easily get your hands on guitars like this, I'll take the fretting hand.

I would love to see the hardtail Axis make a comeback. I got lucky enough to find one, and I'd love to have more. The body shape is perfect, the neck feels awesome, and the controls are just right. Add on a coil tap in the volume knob, and I'll be set for life.

I drool over Tim's purple EVH hardtail every time I see it.

I'll keep to one mod, but I have a couple of different things I'd love to have that are just one mod...

Arm scoop in the BFR

BFR shape on regular basswood and maple necked Petrucci

A non trem/piezo Petrucci

However, including the arm scoop in the BFR, I'd love to have regular colors of that too...

This is all of course endorser type stuff, so my biggest deal is: I just need to get signed. lol

22-fret version of the 20th Anniversary Silhouette

I love my 20th Silo, but sometimes I find myself wishing the neck pickup were a little bit farther away from the bridge pickup.

(Or perhaps what I really want is an Axis SS with the tone block and the 20th pickups? Hmm...)

I intend on getting a Morse model. I would like a push/pull volume or tone pot for the neck and bridge humbuckers to go from series to parallel.

All that stuff is something I can do myself though....

Hey Butch- I used to have one of those wired up. A 4PDT mini-toggle can be wired to set both humbuckers in series, parallel or split mode.

Nice one Beej - I thought you had done something like that - I had a quick search but couldn't find it!!

Nice to see this thread pop up again - I hope BP and his team consider these ideas in their R & D.

Cool, but I'd rather have the push/pull pot(s). That axe has enough switches on it as it is. I like the idea of the push/pull pots because it will still maintain the stock appearance.

Oh great. If this thread is back in business, that means I have to start moderating again.

Have you noticed though.... no mention of lefty Petrucci's in a while. Good job kids! I knew tough love would make its way in the end.

Still balls to the wall about Axis hardtail. *ahem*

Can't believe I'm the first to post this:

JP BFR with an unfinished neck instead of the painted one...

...rather not 'cause the BFRs are sporting mahogany necks (after what I read) which are not a good choice to be left unfinished. Then you'd maybe have to choose a maple neck on a BFR body...
