I'm considering some HB size P90s in one of my Axis guitars.
Possibly the Green Sport or the Green Axis... Maybe even the HHAL... But there is no way I would give up those original pickups.

One of the few guitars that I did not want to change the pups. Same goes for my AL.

I suppose, maybe the Suhr/Aldrich set? If you like em' hot!

I would not mess with perfection! I bought a pair from a fellow forumite for $180 and love them in my sterling Ax40, they are one of those exceptions were they got it right, REAL RIGHT! Evh loved them! And i think it was Luke that picked them, because Evh could not decide between the tonezone and air norton, the axis set or the Norton/ air Norton.

Better off putting a push/pull for coil tapping. I played a GC special Al HH with that configuration and it was awesome.

Best move I made to mod my JP XI 7 was dropping in the LUNDGREN M7

Now, the best playing axe finally SOUNDS like it

I don't know about the Axis but I put a set of Dimarzio Dominions in one of my Y2D's.... They are a good middle ground between vintage and modern, and they sound great clean.

Got a JB in my Axis SS. The stock pup finally gave out after years of heavy gigging.

Hi Jonny, you should contact customer service about swapping your dead one for a good one.

Personally, I would not change pickups in an Axis. And, you know I like to mod my guitars. It's just that the Axis pickups are so perfect for me. The only way I would change pickups is if I had a lot of Axis guitars and I wanted a bit of variety in my sound.

Tollie is right, they are the best match for that guitar, and they are HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER! You should give them a second look, they can do just about any sound you want, except like pingy chimey tele strat sounds, and you probably know that anyway. But they are some of the best hard rock pickups ever, I also really like the peavey wolfgang pickups too they are different but a little hotter and thicker, i love the axis set the best for an axis though.

I love the stock pickups, but if I had to replace them it would be with a set of DiMarzio 36th anniversary pickups.
