I just got back from my first band rehearsal since my accident. It was just so good to play again. I've wired my ASS LE up with really light 8-38's till I'm back up to strength again. I'm having to rethink some of my chord shaping though. The new end of my finger is much fatter than it used to be and I have some trouble fretting only one string at a time with it, so I do get a few dead notes :D Still, its now two months since the incident happened and I am thankful to be back playing so soon, it could easily have been so much longer. I have to give massive credit to the surgeons who did a marvellous job. I'm off at the weekend for two weeks in the South of France so will be looking forward to my first gig near the end of August.

That's great news. Has it really been two months? I remember reading your initial post and thinking about how awful that was.

Seems that not only the surgeons did a great job...you did as well! I'm still amazed with how you dealt with your injury and always kept such a positive attitude. Have fun in France and -if you're on the atlantic coast- go surfing!

That's great news bro, l once cut the end of my finger on my left hand, it took a while to heal, it had might as well been a year, and took even longer to get back my strength.

But thankfully now it's only a memory.

Thanks Guys. I know I've said it before but all of your support and good wishes made it so much easier for me to stay positive. I am indebted to all of you. I was a great feeling to play with the band again and I had a great welcome back. Strange thing is that after standing for a couple of hours with a guitar round my neck and movin' with the groovin', my legs and back are so stiff I feel like an old man ....it's been too long :D

Awesome news! Do you think it's time for a celebratory new guitar?

I think that would be a great idea but unfortunately out of the question for now. Holiday to pay for etc... and feeling the credit crunch like most others too I guess.
