Facebook and Twitter is dangerous. It will come back and bite alot of people in the butt in the future. I can see how it can be used for companys, But too many people using it for the wrong reasons and put way too much information out there. I remember building Ham radios and getting a lic. talking to people around the world and logging it. Twitter and facebook is to easy.

Fing I totally agree with you. I hate it when people use the phone when they drive, when they walk into the office texting ignoring their work colleagues, people who use them in lifts, sorry elevators -on the other hand I am pleasantly surprised by some of the useful applications available on the i-Phone (the one that got me out of a load of trouble was the app that tells you the traffic situation on your route!!). Needless to say that I'm not on Facebook.

BP I wonder if he was a troll just winding you up?

I don't mind the face tube thing - I use it to rant when I've had a bad day - but 'friends' who I've done favours for use it as a pager for me - which annoys me -

Wouldn't be without my iphone ever!

In the meantime - BP you'll need this when going out for grill meat

Is there a way to disable the PM function on Facebook?
First let me say that EBMM's service is absolutely the best I have encountered in the business. AJ answered my question is minutes via E-mail not days. And this is for a "Used" guitar. Most vendors don't even reply at all.
I have been buying guitars for 28 years, and Music Man is fantastic in providing no hype, great products with real SERVICE.
Sleep well tonight!
BTW, speaking of service...the next time you make a baseball bat AL neck for Mr. Saraceno, can you make me one too?
:D

I started a Facebook account just so I could decline every 'friend' request that arrived. For some reason I find this childishly pleasing.;)

And, yes I am a grumpy old man...:D

Sounds like my normal facebook account. My picture is of a trailer I used to own and I only accept friends who are people that I actually know in some way or another. Imagine that.

Ok......I have a follow up to my last post, Big Poppa. Seems I was right! I played at our Sunday service and that Check Engine Light just kept flashing at me. Got home and took the guitar into the house. Went to bring my son to the skatepark and low and behold.....no more check engine light. Sure sign that the guitar was the cause.

If you can get back to me on how to fix the guitar, that would be great. I'm waiting.

 :D

sounds like fun.
Sometimes I think the FB/social networking thing is just un-natural.

Agreed. Never been on it and don't plan to. I keep in touch with the people I care about via pen, phone, or email. I'm in my mid 30's, work in IT, and love technology -- I'm not one to turn my nose to anything new and revolutionary. That being said, I am really turned-off by the social networking sites. I just don't see the need to make my life that open. To each his own though.

well BP, because you are in fact "approachable", I hate to say it, but as ridiculous as it is, it "does" come the territory.

How would you like to be approached at your child's wedding and have the caterer interrupt your conversation amongst friends and ask, " . . . .I hear a crackling when I plug my guitar into the amp, what should I do?"

I have a feeling what you would tell him he should do!! lol, lol, lol

I'm in hell too.

I get 2am PM's from hot ex shags that want me to make their G-String buzz again.

The hell part is not being able to say yes.

I have been accused of pandering here and not being real....That claim also astounds me... You cant fake 5 am sunday morning posts.

That's sick...these people need to get a life

There's a chain in place to deal with problems on any product, especially on EBMM guitars. If you bought one and have problem, use it. PMing the boss of the manufacturer is not asking for customer service, but lacking character. PMing the big guy on a Sunday morning at 5am is just crazy

This is just a silly world we are living in. I agree with you BP everyone want the information NOW

If you don't return a call or Email within the 10 mn people will not understand and will be convinced that you are just ignoring them ...

I'm an avid Facebook user, I must log on at least 2-3 times per year. I know, I know, people must wonder how I find the time to do it!

I must admit, I really enjoy hearing that someone has 'just made a coffee lol lol'. It makes social interraction so much fun!

I'm not a Facebook fan.

If I wanted to keep in touch with people I went to school with or met in the past, I would have.

If I don't keep in contact with you after meeting you by phone or meeting up, its probably because I don't really like you very much!

I also don't need to "Tweet" my exact location and what I am doing twenty times daily, this is because the people who need to know....know, and, the people who don't aren't interested or don't like me very much!

Whatever happened to meeting up in the pub and having a pint?

This is just the opinion of a Yorkshireman and most of us up here don't know how to work computers and have only just developed opposable thumbs.
