I have no doubt that with that magical product (and a lot of elbow grease :p) your guitar will be as new

I think it's possible Spud might finish his guitar before I finish mine! :D

The guitar is lookin great Spud. A big improvement over the hack job spray paint scheme. Lookin forward to seein it back to it's original form.

Ha nice one Morbid;)
Just a few more photos - it takes quite a time to painstakingly do this - it's akin to unfurling the Dead Sea Scrolls - a little at a time.

I had my heart in my mouth a few times - came across an area that had a grey/green undercoat and I was fearing the worst - was I gonna discover a repair? From what I had stripped so far I had not come across any grey undercoat.

In this shot you can see the hazing effect from carefully rubbing away. But it comes up fine with some 2000 wet and dry and some polish from guitar scratch remover (see this thread)

.

Anyway the neck is off and I'm concentrating on the sides.
I bet Morbid knows what I mean when I say that I know every damn contour on a JP guitar !!!!:)

i would remove the hardware and electronics. all that sanding dust can't be good.

it is going to look killer once your finished.

I know Pat - the electronics were covered in masking tape but I removed it to help Morbid with some queries on his wiring predicament.

You are right though - I am getting a little lax in that department.

Spud,
I can't wait to see the finished guitar all shined up. It's come a long way from that first night I stopped by to check on it that's for sure.

There's no way to know until you scrape/sand one of these things. I sympathize wholeheartedly. She's lookin great though! Don't wear your hands down too much though, you'll need them to play the guitar when it's all done :p

Ha Morbid yer right!!

Your lucky:p - at least you went back to wood - I lierally have to try and remove the white paint out of 3 dings - whilst trying to keep the integrity of the paint in the "crater" of the ding.

Man this is a labour of love - as is yours Morbid.
