Was surfing around this afternoon and stumbled upon this. I wonder if it's original?

From the neck pocket shot, it looks original...

Has the inset neck plate too...

Remember that line from Jim Carrey - Somebody stop me! :D

Hahahahaha, Razzle, Google is a marvelous tool. They have a ton of nice and different guitar, not that I'm in the market, I was just browsing and killing some time yesterday.

Personally, not my cup of tea. But you never know who's it might be, ;)

Joel replied in the serial number thread stickied at the top as follows:

This is an interesting one. 2 combinations seem close to that serial number. G05331 is coming up as a Steve Morse completed on February 19th, 1999. The original color on that is black. G05991 is coming up as a Steve Morse completed on January 28th, 1999. The original color on that one is blueburst. The color from the pictures in the link appears to be pearl purple, so we believe it was refinished aftermarket. I couldn't find any other combinations of that serial number that come up as Steve Morse models.

If it was in your hands you could inspect the neck cavity, rear cavities for signs of a respray?

So the evidence so far is that it was probably a black guitar that has had a refin?

I bought a guitar that had had a refin - lower priced than your usual second hand JP6 - so if it has had a refin it may be a bartering tool to get a price reduction?

Cool, not that I was interesting in it at all, but nice to know about it. Not a fan of the color, just found it unusual.

Thanx all. Glenn |B)

Looking at the picture of the neck pocket, you can see on the Bass side where the original blueburst oversprayed into the pocket.
