Pete Dubaldo is playing and all of a sudden he just pulls a knob and pow, different sound.

All the figured top JP BFR models have a push/pull on the tone control to use both coils of the two humbuckers while in the middle position. The normal middle position is the two inner coils. The standard JP models do not have this feature, they are inner two coils only.

Good question!

Body codes 962, 963, 964, 972, and 974 have a push/pull tone pot.

Body codes 960, 961, 966, 967, 970, 971, 976, 977 do not.

Your Rosewood BFR JP is either a 960 (non-piezo) or 961 (piezo).

I guess the easiest way to look at it is if it has the forearm scoop, then it does not have a push/pull. If the forearm contour is slightly rounded and not scooped, then it does have a push pull.

Ok I have a piezo so then I don't have it. That was driving me insane.

I think the best way to simplify it is this. You have a standard JP6 with a BFR neck, not a JP BFR. The standards don't have push/pulls, the BFR models do. Look at the pictures and read the descriptions on the instruments page, it may help clarify things.

Ahhh but Proto the rosewood neck MAKES the standard model JP a BFR, that's why it comes with a certificate. The BFRs are whatever EB want them to be....

I know Pete, I was just trying to make it easier or simplify it a bit. It seems he's getting a bit confused by the fact the a BFR is anything EB wants.

Plus I'm still steamed about A.J. Burnett's 1st inning.

At this moment I'm not happy with the game, either, and hopefully that ends your lefty hijack!

Let me emphasize this...
