Why not go for regular computer desk type stuff. Plenty of people make them of real wood and look very nice and sturdy. I don't own any rack gear but the omnirax stuff is the right height for ear level monitors sitting on the hutch. This is kind of important.

IMO it would be important to have drawers and cabinets instead of open shelving to keep the dust and garage bugs off the computer tower and other gear. Garages can be pretty dirty.

I work at a hardware store and a friend is helping me design a verticle guitar storage rack that will accomadate a 3 or 5 rack inside with glass door for display and some drawers for other gear. I wanna be able to have a few guitars in a rack for easy grabbing but away from dust.

Good luck!

I've heard of people picking up stuff at IKEA for these kind of things. Sure, its not "studio" furniture, but I've heard the functionality is great.

you just wanting MDF cabinets BP??? - or something with a nice finish???/ - There used to be a company in the UK that made speaker cabs, they didn't actually sell the full finished things it was just MDF boxes -but you could nail 'em together....and any size or shape and you just told them where to cut holes...

If it's something in a nice oak then I think it might be a skilled carpenter!

Argosy Console has some cool stuff. I just bought a floor rack from them. A little pricey but it looks very, very nice.

All modular you can build anything you would like. We use it to build security operation centers I think you can get it through distribution, if not let me know and I'll help you out.
