Driving home from work tonight and they played a Seal song called "Kiss from a rose". I hadn't heard it for a while and I got all shivery!!

Another example - when EVH brought out "Jump" that lead break was killer and I still get tingles when I hear it - and I'm not a huge EVH fan - just a little 'un !

Do you get that feeling when you hear a particular song or a lick? - if so tell us what it is

That whole album is brilliant and really brings me back to a specific time in my life.

Seal's 1st and 2nd albums (both entitled "Seal"..) are gems without a bad track on either one. His "Live in Paris" DVD is also fantastic.

Definitly Marillion "Warm Wet Circles" and especially the part "She nervously undress ..." for the big shivers

"Here today" by Mc Cartney still brings tears each time I hear it

I may get burned at the stake for this one but,
the solo for gravity (John Mayer trio)
I really like the solo for come back to bed

As for Seal, the version of Whirlpool from the Killer single ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

My three most spine tingling recorded moments (you can never top live experiences) are:

Rainbow: Stargazer - the ultimate Blackmore track, from the ultimate Blackmore album (Rising). The moment that really sends a shiver down my spine is very close to the end, where Dio sings "I see a rainbow rising, look back at the horizon... and I'm coming home". Sure the lyrics are (as always with Dio) slightly goofy, but the build up is just so perfect and when the strings kick in it's simply too good.

Roger Waters: What God Wants Part III - I know I'll step on the toes of a few Floyd fans with this one... But IMHO Amused to Death is the best Pink Floyd album ever - the lyrics are downright brilliant and Jeff Beck's solo on this track is just godly.

Explorers Club: Fading Fast - Trent Gardner (of Magellan "fame") really outdid himself with the Age of Impact disc and Fading Fast is the highpoint of the album. Dispair, fear and release - it's all there... not to mention one of my alltime favourite Petrucci solos... I actually think I'll put it on right now.

There you have it... and I even managed to sneak a MusicMan artist in there ;)

Cheers

I was listening to Yes's Big Generator in the car today and Shoot High Aim Low still does it every time. Utterly gorgeous track.

Few that instantly get turned up....

Steve Morse - Tumeni Notes, Cruise Control or on Deep Purples Purpendicular's CD - Vavoom, Ted the Mechanic

Joe Walsh - Funk 49

Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien

and one that always brings up great memories when I was a teen and was playing on the turntable while doing the dirty for the first time, Scorpions - The Zoo...

I can't say I'm a fan of the Seal, but I have a great appreciation for Heidi Klum's work. ;)

I do get shivers when I hear LOSING A FRIEND off the new Cardigans album. IN THE ROUND gets me tingley too. They write amazing stuff.

Dude -

You could not be more right about Amused to Death. An absolutley tremendous piece of art (and Beck's playing is phenomenal throughout - and downright haunting on that opening bit). The Bravery of Being Out of Range also always riles me up. What a hidden treasure that whole CD is. Man - nice one! :)

That's a great progression. One of my fav moments is the intro to "That Time of the Night" which begins immediately after "Warm Wet Circles". Some of the best 'moody' music I can recall.. the pulsating bass & drums, bursts of guitar solo, airy synth chords... and great lyrics..

lost in a kitchen sink, or thrown in a wishing well"
