My new SC/H tort guard showed up for the white whale.

It's been raining all day, so no natural light pictures, and I apparently live in a cave.

This is the best I can do for the night:

With my new Custom Shop Relic PBass :D

And, on the dining room table after being polished:

I'm a happy boy, and luckily my GAS level for a Butterscotch Bongo just went way down. I am anxiously awaiting the next Ltd Ed color, though...

Better pics once the sky co-operates.

Sweet-Ness Monk! That tort really sets off the white. :D Now that I only have SR5's I'm looking forward to doing a lot of p/g and knob switching. Maybe that will keep the GAS down. :p

Very nice. The P bass as well. Is there much of a noticable difference between the relic basses and the American standards?

Yeah, buying pickguards worked for a while for me, too. I ordered this one last week to kill GAS for the Butterscotch, but then I went and bought a PBass.... :D

Night and day, really. This CS weighs about 8 lbs, had a higher output than an 18V dual humbucker $7000 Ritter, and plays like it's been loved for 40 years. The American Standards are nice, and while the QC is a heckuva lot better than it used to be, you still need to find the right one.

Plus, if I drop the screwdriver  when I am changing strings, I can still sleep at night. :D

I like the tort and think everyone should have at least one Pbass. ( also think every Pbass owner should also have something else)

The tort looks SMOKIN monkeee.

If thats the Relic that was at the North Druid Hills GC, I can attest, that is one smokin P-Bass. Played and sounded like heaven.

Yes, yes, yes !!!

An unlined board is the only way to go when one goes fretless, IMHO.

A white, fretless Bongo.

I have to sit down. :D

Looks so nice, Bassmonkeee. ;)

Complements the rosewood board and white body really well!!! I'm not a big Bongo fan, but that does look nice!

I think I still like the abalone guard best. Any pictures of it, Jason?

I'm so happy with the look that I think I am done shopping for pickguards for Moby. :D

The original abalone is great--this is for dlloyd :D :

The mint was cool:

But, I think the tort is it. I like the blend of vintage with modern. Plus, the colors just look so nice together.

ebmuscmanlvr83--Yep, that's the same PBass. It plays even better now after lowering the action and putting on flats. Easily the lightest PBass I've ever owned.

And, nismaniac--it doesn't quite cure the GAS for the Buttercream, but it does help alleviate it enough that I don't do anything stupid before the buying window closes.

Now, I just need to decide on a new pickguard for the Black Sapphire Bongo....the work is never done....
