Metropolitan,

It's understandable to be upset when your #1 guitar needs some fixin'. But Ernie Ball/Music Man is a great company and they'll give you a fair shake (perhaps more if you keep your cool). You've got the attention of the top guy right now... you think that would happen at Fender?

Anyway, it's not just the JP model.. all of their guitars have a one year warranty to the original purchaser. There's no fee you can pay to extend that warranty.

How did Dan shrug his shoulders over the phone? That's what I want to know!
:)

Im the guy who can help.

Now if you want to start over and see where that gets you?

Allow me to translate, BP:
" I am in a position to assist you because I believe in customer satisfaction. I am also a "no nonsense" guy. However, if one wishes to receive "consideration" or "benefit of the doubt" one must act in kind.
If you wish to conduct "business" in a "business like" manner-I will do my best to meet you somewhere where both of us can walk away with no hard feelings-getting hostile doesn't help"

Does that about sum it up? I can understand the frustration here, but, EBMM is about the most reasonable guitar company one could deal with.
Have I ever told you my G!3$0n story....

Lol yea you can't really see ppl shrugging their shoulders over the phone. The tech simply had me convinced that Ernie Ball's customer service was subpar at best. I'm having a serious conversation with him tomorrow about everything. Thanks to Ernie Ball for doing all you can - I know I am a jackass for posting this thread in the first place, but I wanted to see what came of it. I'll buy a neck when I have the money, end of story.

By the way, is there any way I can get the stress cracks painted in? That problem happened within the last year, probably b/c of traveling with it so much.

Here is the deal. You really need to make sure that you understand that you have a high performance guitar that needs to be taken care of. Especially the Jp as it has a very thin neck....Climate changes are also not your friend with wood.

If your tech would like to come on here and tell us about guitars and service Im sure he woud be welcome.

Call Dan tommorow and we will meet you in the middle and pay the freight back to you.

I am not going to second guess your tech, and I don't know what he did when he first got your guitar working right, but if he was talking crap about us, he just doesn't know.

I think you are starting to understand more about us, and how we are passionate about all things guitars. Stick around, show some respect, and see what happens.

bwahahahahha......amazing how a little reasoning and clear and proper dialogue can still get you some places....:) Proof that yelling louder to be heard only falls on deaf ears with reasonable people.

My stepdad told me it was $150 to ship it, flat out. I thought it was insane too but that's what he told me.

I'd wager $150 he or you are lying.

By $3,000 I was talking about how much I've invested in the guitar overall - sorry if that wasn't clear.

You're still not being clear. How did you invest another $1500 into the guitar? Did you ship it to SLO 10 times by any chance?

I'm simply being thrown back and forth between tech and company and the tech blames the company while the company blames the tech.

You've chosen to blame the company too. Not the tech who suggested you buy a replica neck. If such a thing exists for this guitar.

All I know is that I know of many people who've had a JP model for as long as I have if not longer, and they haven't encountered this problem at all.

None of those guitars have anything to do with yours since they're made from different pieces of wood.

I've never encountered this problem with any of my other guitars either.

Again, a fact that has nothing to do with the matter at hand. You are in my opinion, a nightmare customer.

Do you keep your guitars in a room with a humidifier?

If not there is your problem. Now I know not everyone does that but. That is the only way to make sure this doesn't happen.

Well, I don't know about that. I'd say the vast majority of us don't have humidified rooms.
