Hi everybody.
Just wanted to share my excitement with all of you MM owners. After lots of e-mails and phone calls trying to find a MM dealer for Colombia, I finally could order my new Bongo bass. I sent a 50% advance to Consolidated Music in Miami and they've just ordered a brand new Bongo to EBMM according to my requirements: A lava pearl 5-string MM Bongo with white ice pickguard and Humbucker-Single coil-Piezo pickup configuration. They told me that it will take like 4 months to get the job done. That's OK for me because in the meantime I can save the other 50%, but waiting is really hard.
A question about pickup configuration: This was the most difficult part to decide (aside from lava pearl or desert gold colors). I chose this because:
1. A humbucker in neck position feels uncomfortable for slapping.
2. I liked the "having all possible pickups in one bass" concept. Sounds the most versatile to me.
But, in general, I've seen that people tend to favor the HH configuration more. Of course I cannot perform a test (I'm pretty sure that it will become the first Bongo in my country, BTW), so I'd like to hear pros and cons of every pickup configuration (don't forget the piezos) from you Bongo owners.
Thank you in advance. And every attempt to calm my nervousness is welcome!
