Neck size and Dealer/Player Input

Poppa...the question about the neck size keeps coming up and not getting answered...is that because you guys aren't sure yet?

The axis neck is my all time favorite neck shape of all time....so please, please, please don't change the rear contour...too many thin necks out there...now if you want to make it a tad wider (so the high E string has a little more breathing room up the neck), that wouldn't be such a bad idea...might even work better with the bigger body dimensions....but i beg you; don't mess with the asymmetrical carve on the back and the chunkier feel....it adds to the tone too!

I would bet if you took a poll of axis lovers on this site, most of them would tell you the shape/profile of the neck has a LOT to do with it's allure.

I certainly hope you don't mind when we suggest things on these prototype guitars...these are some of the things that make you one of the best and most unique builders out there...you include us (or at least give us sneak peeks)

I will be ordering lots of these for the store as soon as Dan will take orders! (i'm sure at least one of these will work it's way into my collection)

Happy New Year, by the way....the skinny looks great on you...takes years off of you!!!!

The guitar neck profile is like the Silhouette Special but with a 12" radius. The bass is like a 22 fret Bongo neck.

Interesting - my favorite neck shape but with a flatter radius. I can't wait to check one of these out whenever they hit the streets; very cool combination of features.

Jeffrey and foggy give it a try first.....

Deal...but if I don't like it, will you make me one with the axis profile???:D

Seriously, what was the reasoning behind the completely new neck shape for the axis 25th? Did it have something to do with the bigger proportions, or did you just want something totally different for this special model?

Me too. I might sell my others and go for a 25th with trem.

I remember them saying earlier in the development process that they were going to make a different neck for it. The prototypes were mocked up with an Axis neck.

The Silo neck is still really comfortable. Not that far from an Axis neck. With a 12 inch radius, it'll just be a tad wider and flatter.
