Did we ever get a peek of a JP-F1 in Bahama Blue Burst (preferably quilted) ??
Just ordered a 07LE JP6, and am starting to think about changing the order !

I don't think so. I remember no such picture from any of the collections of NAMM photos.

Check with your preferred dealer on Thursday for pricing. All BFR's will have "10" tops. We no longer offer the upgrade top option. The pictures are quite compressed to fit onto this forum, so maybe the tops don't "pop" as hard as they do in person. These tops are also stained...

Does this mean we can choose between quilt or flame since it's "10" top???

Man, these new models are killing me. If the JP7 in transparent black wasn't a fade paint job, I'd hate myself for ordering a regular JP7 a few months ago.

But, in a month I'll be the proud owner of an Egytian Smoke JP7 loaded :D

Whats the deal with these JP "LE" models? What makes them different from BFR? Are there any pics? Is there a pic of this new quilted blue JP?

Here is a Walnut Burst JP7. The body is made of alder, mahogany tone block, and maple top. The neck is mahogany. I'll get more BFR pictures up tomorrow!

The Limited Edition models are in a different color every year for the past few years. This year it's Blue Dawn. Last year, it was black with gold hardware. The year before that the color was Buttercream. Before that, I think, was Radiance Red. There was also Envy Green. These have been the original JP model in various colors. That means basswood with maple neck and rosewood fingerboard.

The BFR is alder with mahogany tone block, maple neck, mahogany neck as it says in the first post of the thread. This BFR also has a push/pull pot that will activate all 4 coils of the pickups at the same time. This JP BFR also is shaped a bit differently from the original JP6 and JP7.

Ah, it all makes sense now.

I was thinking the horns on the new Petrucci were a little different. The lower horn looks like it has been made more narrow for more... meedleymeedleymeedley meeeeeeeeeeee!

Thanks for the info :)

I'm not real fond of the painted neck on the Petrucci BFR's. One of the main attractions for me on the regular Petrucci guitars is the birdseye neck. I like seeing all the birds wink at me while I play :)

I agree. The natural neck is a definate plus with the standard JP, but with the added tops, tone block, and push/pull pup tap of the BFR, it may be tolerable. ;) However, I really don't like the 12th fret inlay... I would prefer that to be an option... Just my opinion...

+1 on the 12th fret inlay

I think the BFR inlay looks very classy. However the LE07 inlay is not my thing but thats what makes it a LE so its not a big deal :)
