It's here, and I did a bit of fret work on it. I hope to have it done by the end of the day, but if not, it will be done on Monday(we don't work Fridays).

Very cool... so what's your diagnosis on the nut? The buzzing coming from there or what? As you can see/hear it's quite bad.

Do y'all get a three-day weekend every week?

I think my last question to Jon got buried so just in case here it is again:

What was your diagnosis on the nut? Was the buzzing from the strings coming from there or a combination of things? I'll be very interested to know cuz that was my only assumption.

Thanks,

Mark

TBH, the only string I could get to buzz was the A string, and it was more of an acoustic buzz than anything else. I did find a couple of slightly low frets, so I leveled and re crowned the frets. There is nothing wrong with the nut. I did not get a chance to do the setup on it yet, but I will do it 1st thing Monday, so it should ship out to you the same day.

That surprises me because it rendered the open low E useless when using the piezo. The A string sounded like a "chorus effect" even acoustically and the D was a minor buzz but still there. That's quite odd. I wish I would have saved a recording so you could have heard it. Weird.

BP,

I just wanted to know the progress on a piece of equipment I spent a lot of money on. And, also $135 to ship. I wasn't demanding replies or anything this is just a forum and this was the only way I knew how to contact him to know what was the problem. If he saw and had time to reply... great, if not then oh well I'll know when it's done (it's not like I'm calling every second and in fact, the only conversation I've had with this man - the man who's fixing my guitar - is what you see here). I saw from a post a while ago that he spent a half hour on the phone with a guy to make sure everything was cool. These posts have equalled no more than 10 min. of his time. I don't think that will hurt the wallet. I'm far from a millionaire but music is one of my jobs so excuse me for being a little neurotic when it comes to my equipment. I'm blown away by what you said actually.

Baffled,

Mark

Edit: Just to clarify, my concern was never WHEN it would get done (i don't care if it takes a month). My only concern was that he didn't initially notice the problem I sent it in for. But, as you can see in my last post was that I had faith in him and trust that he'll do an amazing job (just wanted to let him know what to keep an eye out for when he does the setup). This is why I'm shocked at your post because I don't feel it was called for and it was very condescending. I digress.

Sorry if I baffled you. The normal way to handle problems isnt on the forum. You contact customer service first. your communications should be with them. The reasoning for this is that Jon gets to fix guitars and customer service gets to accomodate customers.

Did you buy this guitar new with these problems? If so what dealer did you buy from and did they offer to solve your problem? This is just for my pea brain...curiousity really

Please understand that it is my mission to make sure that devoted players get the best possible service out of our instruments. I was only nudging you a little because Jon gets deluged. I know that in your mind seven responses dont take that much of Jon's time and should be okay but multiply it by thousands of players who want interaction.

Please accept my apology and if you can try to see it from our perspective hopefully you may understand where I am coming from.
