We went to Sweetwater to meet the people there and welcome them and the newest dealers for Ernie Ball Music Man. Travis and Jennifer from The Travis Larsen Band opened the clinic and really did a fabulous job...Thank you two....

Then JP and I did a clinic....and before the bashers start...I only play at these because JP insists...It was fun and I managed to fake it ok...Makes me want to play more...There are some who still get upset that a free Master Class /Clinic is not a Dream Theater concert...for those Im sorry! It is a chance for JP to explain his beginnings, his processes, his theory and his gear and other insights into what make both he and DT click..You can see him in concert all the time...this is more intimate and personal and hopefully the majority learned something and enjoyed the night

Then we had a sales meeting at 730 the next morning...it was a great time

I love clinics like that...wish I could have been there!
Hopefully those who did attend appreciate your 'gift' to them...

Nice! "Managed to fake it ok" ... yeah right. I've heard you play plenty of times BP, you put most guys to shame.

Was a *great* presentation, Big Poppa!

Love that you included Travis Larson & Jennifer Young (a talented act that I've been following for years) - they can shred with the best of them. After the show I compared my outstretched hand to Jennifer's and her's is literally *half* my reach. So how does she play bass so well?! :)

Loved that you sat in with John - made for a great "conversation" back and forth (musically and socially) - and I wasn't expecting/hoping for a Dream Theater concert - that's not what this was about.

The 14yo kid who sat in with John was a real treat too - am sure he's the hero of his guitar buddies for a while. :)

One thing I would have liked to be included in your discussion was an overview of the product lines - the similarities/differences of the models in the guitar and bass lines.

Oh yeah - and the unveiling of The Majesty would have been cool too - rather than just the quick cell phone glimpse from a dozen+ feet away! :)

Anyways, was a great time - and made me proud to be part the extended Ball Family.

Thank you, Sterling for making the long trip to Sweetwater! it was a pleasure to meet you and to hear about the history of EBMM in person. It was a surreal experience for me. I'm absolutely thrilled that we are now carrying Music Man.

I buy a lot of gear from Sweetwater. Whenever my rep brought up guitars, I always told him "When you guys carry EBMM we'll talk..." I guess I better have my card ready the next time he calls.

How cool, I'd love to have been there. I agree with Razzle, a video of the event would be a great treat for those of us who couldn't attend.

Then again, in these days of Youtube where everything seems to be recorded for better or worse, sometimes it's nice to have just a few photos.

Trust me, they will surface. I saw plenty of people videoing with their phones.

Oh ok, doesn't surprise me, although it's one of my pet hates. I would rather enjoy actually watching an event (or gig or whatever) instead of filming it with my iphone. Must be damned annoying for the participants as well. I'm just an old grouch!

Amen. It bugs the heck out of me too.
Also, lit up lighters on slow songs has been replaced by a sea of lit phone screens, lol. Some things a better off left old school!
