So I've had my DD luke for almost a year, but I hardly play it - it was setup by Strings and things, and plays well but just doesn't wow me -

I'm not in a band right now so it's not had a fair road test, but i'm going to restring it, set it up - If i like it it stays, if I don't it's for sale.

I love EBMM necks, but all my other guitars except for the SUB are maple, maybe that's the problem, I dunno....

Your comments on my dilema are welcome as always - (but there's no scope for a band right now -working 65 hours a week then come home to wife and 2 kids! - I need sleep!!!)

Will post the results tomorrow...

Smelly I tell you, I love my DD Luke, I've actually got it here with me at work so I can practice at lunch time. :)

The only thing that I'm not crazy about and this is just me, I'm not a trem guy, so I think I'd love it to death if it were a hardtail. I still play it and have been weighing the idea of blocking the trem. I personally wasn't sure about the EMG's, but I have to say that I really like them a lot.

Now, I'd say keep it even if you only play it once a month or once in a while. The Dargies aer something very special and for some reason the DD Luke is just the ultimate.

If you decide to part with it, I'm 100% sure you will not have a problem selling it at all man there are people looking for them (Dargies) all the time.

Good luck with your decision. Glenn |B)

Smelly, its just what happens when you have that lovely AL, it just kills the rest. Tell me you dont love the AL.......

Dude, you have no idea, it follows me everywhere, it's literally the only thing I play- and having been a solid gibson man for 10 years, my back is greatful - it's so light -

Just dropped the action on the Luke - the frets and the neck profile seem to be the blockers..... Just can't get my old fart (limited playing style) around it......

More testing - 22hours to go till the hatchet man cometh!

You're gonna bond with certain guitars more than others. Even though I have a brand new rosewood ASS, my AL still gets the most play time because the damn thing pretty much glued itself to me when I bought it.

Next month I will have the flow that I need to get another Ball.

If I saw a Dargie JP.. it'd be mine.

That color green is my favorite color. I would never sell it.

Its a colour that looks so surprisingly good in person...I've had a couple of forumites who commented that they originally weren't sold on the colour until they actually saw my DD Luke in the flesh. DD green really suits the Lukes curves, I'm keeping mine! I've just raised the trem on mine by turning the trem posts through 45 degrees, lubed the nut slots and the thing feels so much better than before. Smelly it's your call about selling yours, but I say give it some decent playtime before any rash decisions. ;)

Smelly if the Luke isn't a good fit (Dargie or not)...you have to do what you feel is right in the end. I could never sell my Dargie Luke not only because it's such a one of a kind...but it's literally the best guitar I've ever played. Take away that awesome green paintjob...it's still an incredible axe!

It's all subjective...it just works for me.

It is funhny how many people that were crazy for thier Dargies have sold them....

Poppa, I love this guitar, the concept, the attention to detail, the fact that I was lucky enough for you to re-open the window to allow me to buy one.....

I just can't make my hand fit round the neck in a comfortable way - I'd never played a Luke before, but was sure it'd be as comfy as all the other ball necks,

Still undecided.......
