well wasn't planed :)))
yesterday I was checking the SBMM site and honestly was wondering if there is a JP 7 model available with Dimarzios
no luck, maybe in the near future!?

but then I've checked prices on ebay and found a pretty good deal an ordered one although for sure I don't need another guitar :)))
now I'm dying here waiting to compare it with my music man JP :D

anyone who has both?

I believe the DiMarzio's can be had aftermarket for the 7-string if you wanted to go that route.

Is it just me or do they charge way more than the cost of the Dimarzio's for those SBMM models? Seems cheaper to buy the guitar and the pickups separately and swap them out yourself.....

you can find them around 650 $ on some ebay sellers :D
I think is a great price, even shipped in Europe, which means another 100-200 $ on shipping and taxes

does that have a finished neck? because as far as I know the JP100D is suppose to have also unfinished neck.
+ it has the Dimarzio pickups
can't wait to compare it to my JP, but honestly the only concern was the quality of the hardware : bridge , nut, tuners, pot , switch
the reviews are very positive on the internet and I was kind of hopping if is close enough I'll sell my JP :)))
can't justify 2 music man guitars for an amateur player, but expectations and reasons are very different from person to person :)

the neck on mine has a finish on it. im not sure about the newer ones.

to my mind, its not really fair to try to compare the sbmm directly with the ebmm- there is a reason that one costs 3x the other. the jp100 is a great guitar and would stand up well against anything else in its price range. i think if i played it exclusively i could get very comfortable with it, but its not something that, for me, could replace an ebmm jp.

limited edition, but will be unlimited if the public is requesting it so badly cu Dimarzio pickups :)))

Brian can you help me with a wiring diagram of the JP70? I would really appreciate this :)
I want to buy the stealth model and change the pickups with Dimarzios and I will have some guy in electronics do this for me.

Paolo, go to DiMarzio website. They have all the wiring diagrams and the different ways to wire it up: Series/Parallel/Coil Tap/Phase... That'll be your best bet

You'll want to get an "F" spaced pickups.

As far as the models to use, the CL/LF is the factory combo, but you might also want to give the new Illuminators a try. I don't have any experience with them, but they are used in the JP13's and seem to have a lot of positive response. Pete DuBaldo would be a good one to chime in on this.

thank you very much again, so F space are the ones
now on the MM JP 6 I have the d sonic and the custom one.
I guess I'll go with the CL/LF...anyway on dimarzio site I saw the are not so significant differences between the pickups that john changed yearly
