I don't think I've ever met a guitar that was a keeper for life. Something newer and shinier always pulls my attention away...

um...theres that little ditty...

my only KEEPER is my David Munn acoustic that my mother helped me pick out and presented to me for my 50th birthday. And, for THAT reason, I promised her I'de never sell it.

My Red Axis Hardtail. Me and this guitar have been through thick and thin, played many great gigs and even more terrible ones! I bought it new in 1996 in project Music in Hounslow. Its been re-fretted once, and has have several 3-way switches and volume pots. The bridge pickup was replaced with a factory correct replacement as the original one was extra wax potted for a reason I fail to remember/understand! Every ding and dent tells a story!

Its currently being undergoing a 10 million note service at time of writing this. Its getting a fret dress, new pot, volume knob and correct block saddles. Should be done this week, and I am very excited indeed to get it back.

Some of my guitars have names, but this one is just known as 'The Red Guitar'

Ironically I've only ever sold 1 guitar that I've owned in my entire life. It's ErnieJohn's beautiful Luke 2 BFR.

Man that is such a nice guitar. Sheesh.
Nice to see the full variety of the Music Man offering (old and new) being represented.

Hey Guys,

Just shy of one year ago, tunaman4u2 started a thread on the bass side of the forum. They are posting pictures of their favorite basses; the ones they plan on keeping forever. I was just about to post a guitar pic, but then I decided to start a thread just like it over here. So, with a tip of my hat to my Boston neighbor, I open this thread giving all credit for the idea to the big kahuna tuna. :D

Here's a pic of a keepers for life trio:

* The Dark Lord Morse is a keeper for two reasons: The reverse headstock, as I am a die hard 80's hair band rocker; and, the big 'ole beefy neck profile. Don't forget the BFR logo. She's stock except for the pearl tuner buttons.

* Oinky speaks for herself. She was 1 of 50 pink Axii made in 2009 with black backs. They were a special run sent to an Asian distributor for sales in that neck of the woods. I added the pink video game button kill switch. Her top is a leopard-like quilt.

* Black Sugar Roasted Maple Axis. Ebony fretboard with the Ball Family Reserve crest. This one has a Floyd Upgrades tremolo and all black hardware. The tuner buttons are real black mother of pearl.

Please feel free to post your keepers for life...however, we reserve the right to razz you if they ever show up on the for sale thread!

I love Oinky Tollie, really great one there

I love the pickguard on the Axis...and, I've never seen a BFR crest on a 25th. Has anyone else? What's up with that?

Thanks, Jamie. I love Oinky. She sustains forever and the body and neck really resonate together. I bought her before the Tributes came out when pink Axii were as rare as hen's teeth.

I noticed the headstock is brown. Maybe a rosewood?

Limited run of 25 25th model with all rosewood neck. Mine is #4

serial number G25004 which is great as i was born April 25th :)

neck plate is also different from other 25th.

As as far as I remember BP have number #13
