Hot smokin Damn!!!!That is one seriously awesome lookin plank. I'm a total KOA whore--I think it is the finest lookin stuff out there. MMMMM, mahogany tone block and neck.....

the thing I really like about the Ball Family pic threads are the way the white background makes it look as though the BFR's have no machine heads


I think the headstock minus the tuners looks great

Thanks for the wikipedia link. I didn't realize koa was a type of tree.


Uses
Its trunk was used by the ancient Hawaiians to build dugout canoes. The reddish wood is highly prized for use in wood carving, musical instruments, and furniture. Koa is also a tonewood, often used in the construction of the ukulele and the weissenborn-style Hawaiian steel guitar.


So will there be any EBMM ukueles made with the left over koa wood? :D

Yep saw those in the BFR post, damn nice, that would/ will be my next Ball if they make some for DuBaldo or GC to sell. Just beautiful.:)
